Dear Kyle,

   -- Samstag, 2. Februar 2008, 22:03:25:

Ok, sounds like this is going exactly where I hoped it would not. I
was reluctant to make the comments and probably should have kept my
mouth shut. I did not intend to start a flame thread on this topic.
I was simply trying to get a handle on the best approach to take,
not start a word war. Sure things have changed, but only in the
tools available to do the same thing. Logic is logic, technique is
technique no matter what you want to call it.

I don't think you should apologize or have kept your mouth shut. Why?
You only have expressed your view on this Topic. Ok, it's being
discussed several times - Gleason wrote about it.

Eveyone has their own way of doing things, some work better than
others and some not at all. Whatever RIT wants to do with the
program is their business and theirs alone.

Sorry to muddy the water on this, I will keep quite.

Sure, TB! is RITlab's baby. And if they wouldn't like our views
RITLabs would not support this ML with Alpha and Beta Versions.

As a non Programmer, and for the past years only following the
development as a Gost in the background, I think to observe, that
there seems to be substantial changes being done and more to come in
the coding. And those definitely affect the functionality more than
any other changes. One or Two years ago RITLabs rewrote the whole TB!
a new, when I recall properly. Probably this Alpha Version is just
another peace that will and is rewritten from scratch. I can only
support Thomas closing words of his posting. Myself also, I am only
using TB! and still try to convince people here in the Middle East
also to use it. MicroEd is capable of using Arabic.

2008-02-06 Thread Stefan Tanurkov
Hello Marek,

MM In new Microed, long rows are not formatted automatically when
MM replying, I have tested same message in 3.99 and it works there!

You mean Smart Wrapping? It's working here.

MM In menu, every dictionary of same language is represented by one row, I
have Czech twice

I see two Czech languages in the list: with CS and CZ abbreviations.
I have no idea what CS stands for - I guess, it was introduced for
some special dictionary ;-)

MM Spellchecking: options for spell engines are not stored, confirmed
MM in .20 https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=6714

WIP

MM Spellchecking: Words with first national and capital chars are
MM incorrectly underlined https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=6709

It's not exactly TB! problem (Russian works OK here), but we'll try
to find a workaround...

MM Access Violation when editing message in Microed since 4.0.0.16
MM https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=6698

I cannot reproduce it since yesterday's morning when I fixed one with
similar symptoms. I guess, I need an animation here to see what
happens exactly.

MM BTW if You removed CSAPI, I suggest some changes to Options dialog:

MM - please move SSCE to first position, I really do not see much sense to
display Hunspell with all disabled options first...

Done.

MM - what about disabled options Suggest from user directories

CSAPI allows it, SSCE does it automatically (i.e. it's not optional),
don't know about HunSpell yet.

MM and Ignore word composed of all roman numerals?

It's an CSAPI option, as I see.

4.0.0.20 wrong icon

2008-02-06 Thread major
Hello
I think, this version has mistake with Mark as Junk icon. It seems like Mark
as Not Junk. See attachment file `wrong icon.png`

And old mistake with address tab. When I open `Address` tab and try to
mark a letter from any sender as Junk I see error pop up window Access
violation at address 00A1AD91 in module `thebat!.exe`.Read of address
. (in 4.0.0.18 it was address 009C9381)

Next moment which I want to show is if I removed mail to Junk or even deleted
it the sender still presents in address tab. It's uncomfortable because to much
spamers are in address list and it's very difficult to find necessary sender
there. It makes this function useless.

Probably it happened only in my PC .

Well, it happened many times before, so it won't be a big surprise,
but... we are going to release 4.0 on February, 7th. It was the last

We tried to remove all screaming problems before the X day, so
hopefully it won't be too buggy. If you have complete showstoppers,
please use this one day that left, so we can try to fix it. The good
news (as usually) - we are not going to stop after the release, nobody
goes off to holidays or anything like that, so the new Beta cycle starts
immediately after the release (actually, the current one will just
continue), so we will make a better 4.0.x release before we go to

SSCE use problem (was: Re[2]: 4.0 news)

2008-02-06 Thread Kertész Vilmos
Hello Stefan,

MP I doubt if this falls under the definition of complete showstoppers, but
MP the fact that TB doesn't remember which languages to use for spell checking
MP is rather annoying.
Hmm. Language selection is stored here. I've just added Norwegian and
restarted TB! to continue writing this message. Norwegian is still in
the list, so it's OK over here :-)

Maybe related to this: in Hungary, we have two SSCE directories. One
where the words are stored correctly, with accents. And we built
another one for old foxes :), without accents (when e.g. I started to
use PCs, telnet could not handle accents, so I and a lot of folks type
without accents.) We built this second SSCE directory with the ID of
the Norwegian language. So, if you select Norwegian, you actually used
the unaccented Hungarian dictionary. (99.9% of the people at us dont
select to install your international pack, just install the core
programs and install the English/Hungarian dictionaries they download
from us.)

Link to the unaccented dict. files:

http://www.freeweb.hu/thebat/files/unaccent.rar
Ssceno.tlx
Ssceno2.clx

So, it worked so far, now it does not work. The accented Hungarian
SSCE still works.

I write down some test word:
kanal
allat
majus

This should not be underlined. At me, they are underlined as
incorrect words.

No, I want to use the same settings (profile) independently of the
 charset used.

If I see well, viewer profiles are associated with charsets. Or not?

Not necessarily. That was my own mistake yesterday. You can create a
profile without assigning it to a charset.

That is the only parameter that you can associate with them...

That's only apparently so. You can change/associate a layout in
Message/Editor preferences.

Ok. Let me understand it completely: I have a Plain text/MicroEd
setting pane. That settings are valid for...? For what?
The only place those settings are used -as I see- is SmartBat.
You are using X-Mailer: The Bat! (v4.0.0.19 (BETA)) Professional
Download and install v4.0.0.20 (BETA) and then take a look.

I installed the MSI on my other PC, I did not see too much difference
in behavior. Ok, I update it here, too.

Hello Vili,

Still not seeing what other parameters can you assign to viewer
 profiles.

 Please enlighten me.

As I have just said in another reply, see Message Viewer/Editor
preferences and select profile from drop down list on top.

 Confirmations?

If you save, using the .txt Option, i am not able to store
the headers, if showed or not.

If you save, using the .mbx Option, you have the headers,
but the whole Message is in that File, not only the Text
(maybe with the Headers).

For Professional Use and debugging, i would support a
option, which allows to store .txt with or without headers.
