ST [-] (#0007145) Persistent selection and Overwrite selection
ST options were not used in the new MicroEd

The behaviour has changed, indeed.
But: Selected text can either be overwritten or it persists. Wouldn't 
it be more intuitive to change the CheckBoxes into RadioButtons where 
only one option can be selected?

I have started TB special installation with no SSCE/HUNSPELL/CSAPI
dictionaries and all Spell checker menu entries in Editor are enabled,
even no language can be selected (language entry is hidden) and no
spellchecking can be done.

Confirmations?

I don't think so. Marek have sent me a sample unix mailbox from Thunderbird 
which had the following lines: :From - Mon Jan 1 00:00:00 1965, which are 
definitely not a good date.

english, both in MicroEd and html

these were messages imported by thunderbird from OE and had incorrect date
:-(

Now I have imported yesterdays messages from TBird received from mailserver
and all have coorect read state and correct received date with
4.0.26.7!
