Wrong Charset when replying to a mail

2009-02-06 Thread Jens Franik
Hello The Bat! Beta Tester,

I reply to a Mail, which has Charset
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

And my Answer is in Charset
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=windows-1250

which is rejected my the Mailman Software of the corresponding List,
because blacklisted_charset

Is there an explanation?

Cannot confirm. I see always the mailto:; prefix added to the
 e-mail address.

 in both RTV and PTV?

There is no prefix in PTV, and in RTV the mailto:; is added, as I
 wrote previously.

Here no problems with RTV or PTV, too.

Access to Mantis Bugtracker

2009-02-06 Thread Jens Franik
Hello The Bat! Beta Tester,

did you ever think about getting into Mantis without your (default)
Browser?

Here is the Solution for Win/Mac/Linux

There is a Simple small XUL Runner which can start Webapps like the
where stand-alone.

I did compile a Webbapp named Ritlabs-Bugtracker.webapp which you can
easily use to access Mantis Bugtracker.

You need to have mozilla-prism installed first

,- [ ]
| Prism (formerly, Webrunner) is a prototype application that lets
| users split web applications out of their browser and run them
| directly on their desktop.
`-

http://labs.mozilla.com/projects/prism/

Then start the Webapp from

An explanation could be that there are non-ascii characters in your

My only idea is to have a look at Options - Preferences - Other

TB and various IMAP Issues

2009-02-06 Thread Bob Riley
Hi Everyone,

I continue to appreciate TB's interface and many features, some of
which I don't even use! However, the following issues involving TB
and Gmail's IMAP features are such regular nuisances that I have
finally and reluctantly decided to use Thunderbird (probably) and/or
Opera (less likely) for my Gmail IMAP account, which is my primary
email service:

1) TB's inability to retrieve many message bodies whenever there is a
sizeable queue for the Inbox. I get an error regularly saying, more or
less, unable to retrieve messages (or message bodies) due to
processing error.

2) TB's being disconnected from the IMAP server after some period of
time, and then no more mail arrives, even though I have set no
preference to shut down the connection after X minutes of inactivity.

In the above cases, I can only clear the situation by shutting down TB
and then restarting, and in some cases, problem 1) still recurs after
downloading some of the queue. Then I have to shut down and restart
TB again to get the rest of the queued messages.

I do not know if these TB issues are true ONLY for Gmail's IMAP system
(as opposed to other IMAP mail systems), but I do know that they don't
occur (for me) with either Thunderbird or Opera's Mail component.

I like TB's interface and available user options better than either
Thunderbird's or Opera's, but the IMAP hang-ups of TB (at its present
stage of development) are becoming more and more time consuming and
frustrating.

I do plan to stay on this list, I might add, just to see when TB's
IMAP feature gets new life. And I will add that TB's IMAP folder
management is better than Thunderbird's or Opera's, in my experience.

Take care,

Hello all,

That's great! Why did you (or one of the RIT guys) wait to communicate
that to the (bat!) beta world?

I am not posting unannounced builds.

I did *not* talk about the new build, but that *you* already knew
about the missing 4.1.11.2 build. = Read the quote before answering!

I have much other work and do not read every article, mainly if subject has
nothing important...

I have not knew about missing 4.1.11.2, I wrote I know there is 4.1.11.3,
this is difference!

 there is unannounced
 http://www.ritlabs.com/download/files3/the_bat/beta/tb41113.rar

but I am not telling, it is good to use that version, because I do
know about changes done in this build since 4.1.11.2

Okay keep your secret. – EOD

of course, there is not missing in my sentence by fault, I do *not* know
whatsnew.

Hallo TBBETA Users,

On another mailinglist I received an email with this link:

I thought this had been fixed a long time ago?

Set Access Password is missing after upgrade

2009-02-06 Thread Victor Star
Hi,

I'm a long time reader of this group but rarely write.
Mostly after upgrades. Problematic ones that's it :)

So here I am.
I've just upgraded to 4.1.11 from 4.0.14 (I know, I know...)
Now on The Bat! start I'm getting the prompt for account name and password.
I used to have one some time ago but disabled it with 4.0.14 by resetting the
password to empty one
if I remember correctly. I've switched to using OTFE so don't need
account-level protection anymore.

But now this prompt is back and it does want me to enter an old password, not
the blank one.
After I enter one The bat! loads, but I can't see Set Access Password
anywhere. Networks
Administration doesn't have any accounts/groups either.
When I'm checking the menu/toolbar setup - the button for password is there.
But not on the menu or
toolbar.

I don't have any other accounts password protected (as far as I remember), this
used to be a master
(administrator) account long time ago.

I just want to disable this prompt, remove the password!
Any clues on how to do it?

Thanks in advance!

 Victor

I'm not sure why you blame TB for this. I guess the posting mail
client could have broken the link. Some are doing that.
