After being asked to test 5.0.0.8 I had to revert back to 4.2.36.1.
One reason for doing this was that all of a sudden The Bat! would not
remember the display pane settings. In particular, I have a full
height folder pane on the left. When 5.0.0.8 was run, this pane

I suggest that you change to local outbox instead of remote outbox. Currently
you do not have a real advantage to use remote outbox. (As long as you don't
save a lot of drafts?)
