Interesting. You have a VERY rare printer... smile
But you also have a point.

TF No, I don't think the software should be second-guessing what colour I
TF would like better than the one coded into the HTML email, I think it
TF should print the colour exactly as in the email. (But then, I also
TF believe that emails should not be in white colour.)

I was just hoping for something approaching HTML printing
consistency, so that we could rely on things to print the
same whether printed from a browser or an email program.
All of the browsers I tried (Firefox, Chrome, IE and Opera)
printed the white text as black and did not print the
background colors (using the default settings.)

A few years ago I found the setting to tell one of the
browsers (probably Firefox, but I'm not positive) to print
background colors and then it DID attempt to print the
text in white -- but since my color printer has no white
ink, that didn't work any better than printing white on white.
For most of us, the print job needs to be rendered as a full
page bitmap and then printed so that the white places are
simply not printed at all. Some printers can probably handle
that themselves, but I doubt it is a generally available
feature.

TF If a smart printing module is introduced, please make it optional,
TF so I can turn it off.

I agree with that completely. I never like being forced to
do something the programmer's favorite way when alternate
options are available. Since the current code obviously
already exists, what I'm hoping for could be a new option
(possibly even an optional add-on/plug-in?)

RO Junk checking happens first. Cannot be altered.

Thanks, that's what I needed to know. Maybe my suggestion
for allowing the user to choose where in the filtering sequence
junk (and virus) checking occurs will be considered...

RO However, what you can do, is make your spam filter add a header (or
RO add something to the subject), but not drop it to the junk folder.
RO And configure the sorting office to move everything with that spam
RO header to your junk folder.
RO You should place that spam filter in your sorting in such a way that
RO addresses with lots of false positives get filtered before your spam
RO filter gets activated.
RO Unfortunately I don't know for sure whether this is possibe with your
RO Regula plug-in.

I just checked the config and there's no option for header
modification. BUT it does have its own filter rules where
I could mark specific header values (just like TB!'s filters)
as always being SPAM or HAM.

BUT...

Today it was all of the new messages from this group (TBBETA)
that landed in the Junk mail folder. Even the one I posted.
Something is definitely wrong. TBBETA messages have been
filtered correctly for *YEARS* with virtually zero false
positives for junk. It is almost infinitely unlikely that
ALL of the messages from yesterday would be considered junk.

All of my other filters (including TBUSER) are still working
correctly today. I'm thinking that my question actually
belongs in the Incoming message filtering stopped working??
thread, because I believe that's what I've been experiencing.

I should note that this behavior is what I saw during the
first few minutes after booting this morning. After I sent
this message, I rebooted my computer again to see what happened
and now the TBBETA message are being filtered correctly again.

I didn't run anything differently either time. TheBat! is the
first (and only) program automatically started when I log in.
So it seems that TheBat! is now doing different things for me
each time my machine is booted.
