Hello All,

The Bat! v9.5 Christmas Edition MSIs are now available:
https://www.ritlabs.com/download/files3/the_bat/beta/thebat_32_9-5.msi
https://www.ritlabs.com/download/files3/the_bat/beta/thebat_64_9-5.msi

Heres is a short list of changes:

[+] /SMTPHOST= command line parameter to specify domain passed in the
SMTP greeting (EHLO/HELO). Could also be added as a line into an account's memo
for account-specific use
[*] %SetEditor template macro is now accepting parameters "plain", "text" and
"HTML" for setting desirable editor type
[*] Store last format (plain text or HTML) used for a new Quick Template
[*] More straight-forward logic of HTML templates use for replies and new
messages
[-] Automatic switching to HTML format was not available for template editor
[-] Some attachments could be hidden from the attachment list as HTML-related
parts
[-] (#02090) Re-filtering Log was "white on white" in dark themes

We continue working on v10 and it takes more time than we expected due to
various reasons, so please stay tuned :-)

This flag should be supported by the server now as it's a non-standard one, the
same stands for colour groups. We plan to add a feature to keep those custom
flags in own database for better consistency...

Hello Stuart,

>> I guess you don't use Google's OAUTH authentication, do you? :-)

> Can you explain what you mean by this?

Sure. The Bat! supports Google OAUTH authentication for about 5 years now and
it is the recommended way to access Gmail. However, some users continue use of
traditional authentication, so Google is tickling them by forcing them to use
app-specific passwords, allowing access of "unsafe" applications etc.

Here is what I see in the stylesheet of your message:

.email-signature {font-family:"Arial"; font-size: 14pt; font-style: italic;
font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; }

So, it seems that you've changed the font size in your signature to 14 and

Hello Adrian,

> I've attached an email and screenshots on the BT entry.

Thanks! From what I see, the name contains special characters (see =0D=0A )
for some reason. Generally, it's not a wise idea to use it in email address
fields

To:
=?windows-1250?Q?Lorem_ipsum_dolor_sit_amet=2C_consectetur_adipiscing_elit=2C_sed_do_eius?=
   =?windows-1250?Q?mod=0D=0A_tempor_incididunt?=

So, those slashes just preserve the new line characters in the name. It would
be better if you privately send some real life examples to me, though...

You've just nailed it. This is exactly the problem - the logic of the "download
manually" option changed to "never download". So, this can be called a "bug"
and must be reworked so the meaning of the option is clear.

In fact, the "explicitly allowed" option now works as manual download mode,
just with added rules.

I think it's a good point :) Actually, we have some relatively fresh ideas
about image download management, we're going to come up with some in future (I
hope).

There was no arrow after "Image Download Manager", AFAIR - at least the menu
structure didn't change, we've just re-enabled the menu command and made it
visible.

Hello Gunivortus,

This is just an old wording and it just confirms my hyphothesis that the
setting in the preferences is out of sync with the old setting of the image
download manager ("Deny unknown" was the default before switching to Chromium
Engine).

By "known" actually meant URLs  allowed by download rules there.

Please open the "Tools | Image Download Manager" and look at the Rules page -
what do you see there as the "Filter Type"? (I guess, we should rename it).
Presumably, you have something like "Deny all" or "Deny unknown".

We'll fix it in the next version. Funny enough, it depends on the font size,
e.g. size 9 use normal spaces, size 10 - nbsp, I've noticed the difference on
my office and home systems :-)

No, I deliberately didn't post exe-only archives because it won't work without
new CEF binaries. Bear in mind, you'll need to backup (rename) your current CEF
directory if you may need to roll back

The table seems to be too complicated for the current Web version of Excel and
I don't have MS Office on my desktop. I opened it with Open Office Calc and I
can set colors to rows and columns without a problem.
