making my eyes bug out.

OK, it's decided that we'll have an .INI file in the mail directory with
fine-tune values. There will be no GUI for editing those values now, but I
promise to think about how to do comfortably :-)

What is strange about this 'problem' is that all incoming filters, but
one, seem to be working. It was the one not working the one that led
me to "discover" the problem.

Also, it is interesting to note that if I start TB v8.8.9 and open the

Honestly, I wouldn't mind if the menus and toolbars were replaced with

This version seems much slower than the previous one - eg. it took
about 4 seconds between me pressing F4 and the editor opening (I then
closed it, and tried again, and it was similarly slow again); during
the wait, the toolbar icons in the main window were flickering a bit.

Another problem is that all the tree lines are missing, both in folder
and message list panes - makes it harder to see what threads where.

In those circumstances the cause is probably something quite unique to
that particular system. Have you tried starting Windows in Safe Mode to
disable a bunch of drivers and services that might be interfering?
Personally, in this case I would be suspicious of mouse and video
drivers (I don't know if Safe Mode replaces those with plain vanilla
Microsoft versions.. you may have to do so manually).

Another possibility might be that you have something odd in your reply
templates (and other templates)? A common cause of 5-10s delays is when
Windows tries to access a device (like a disk drive) that is asleep due
to energy saving - but if that was it, the problem would be
intermittent.

I hope removing DevExpress components will speed things up (we'll see

64 bit here.

While I'm here...

Beta 7 breaks the new/old customisation features a bit. I had a small
toolbar ("ExtraActions") that I coded up with hotkeys and docked to
the side of the main window. In the new version, that toolbar is
floating free and has no right click options to dock or customise and
won't drag/dock. 2 of the buttons in it have shortcut mappings for
"Follow next" and "Follow previous". The shortcut keys still work but
those 2 options are not present in the main toolbar customisation
dialog for me to rebuild the bar in the other customiser.

In the area of PITA bugs, I will mention another, longer standing

there is a ~10 second unresponsive freeze in the UI. The days of "hit
reply and type" are gone. It seems to me that this behaviour began
with early v9 releases. This problem is unrelated to reply length,
HTML (I default to plain text and force HTML manually if i need it),
template (I've used a blank one to test). It's driving me nuts! For
the first time in more than 20 years I'm actually wondering if another
client may suit me better. Task manager shows TB using 10-12% at this
point where it would normally max out at 5% and tick over at < 1%.

Hmmm. Actually, I didn't think the list order in the announcement matters :-)

Basically, I think there should be no difference in priority between 32 and 64
bits as both are in use.

By the way, it would be nice to see what is version is used more today...

We're trying to find a balance between minimizing clutter and
effective usage of space. To me, it's time to add some air into the
list to make things more readable and reduce stress and using 4 extra
pixels per item is a reasonable price for that. Let's see how it goes
:)

I don't know how it will look with chevrons but, so far, I do miss the

Oh, I see. Looks like you normally don't work with Betas because RAR
is used for Beta distribution for long time now. Anyway, thanks for
