However, Thunderbird and the others show only an empty placeholder where the image belongs and they show that there is an attachment, too, which is the image that belongs where the placeholder is shown. I think that if you looked at the screen shots at the links I posted it would have been quite clear. Also, if it was not clear, this problem has existed in TheBat! as long as I have been using it. RIT's standard response has always been to say that they are right and everyone that doesn't display their messages correctly is wrong. While that may be technically correct, it would seem very sensible to ensure that TheBat!'s messages would display correctly in any email client that is more popular than TheBat! I checked a few sites that track such things and have deduced that TheBat! (while a very good product) has significantly less than 0.5% of the total market for email clients. http://visibleranking.com/most-popular-email-clients.php http://www.labnol.org/internet/email/most-popular-email-clients/9340/ http://www.smartinsights.com/email-marketing/email-marketing-analytics/most-popular-email-marketing-clients/attachment/email-client-popularity/ I believe that, if TheBat! were in the top few, then it is possible to force others to conform if you adopt the We're right, everyone else is wrong attitude, but TheBat! isn't at that point, so they should probably conform to the more commonly accepted standards rather than sticking to the letter of one particular standard (or is it actually only an RFC?) that they got working. -- Steven Vallière | tb 5.1.6.7 | mailto:the...@e-visions.com -- If you didn't write it down, then it didn't happen. -Larry Zana Current beta is 5.1.6.7 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

The three places I saw problems were Thunderbird (tb), Squirrel Mail (sm), my RoadRunner ISP's web mail (rr) and RoundCube (no image captured.) In all of those, the image appears as an attachment and I /can/ eventually see it. In some, there is a placeholder for the image and sometimes the placeholder is the correct size, but the image is not shown. All of these programs show images fine when they come FROM each other or Outlook or gmail or whatever. So far, I've only had trouble with HTML messages sent from TheBat!
