Remove duplicates doesn't seem to work (5.0.6)
Listmembers: Due to a situation where I had to switch mailserver for one and the same account to my ISP and then back to my own server I ended up with a rather large number of duplicate messages. I figured that would not be a problem, as I could easily 'zap' them with 'Remove duplicates'. Much to my dismay I have now noticed that this doesn't work (at least not when applied to a single folder). After pressing Ctrl-D, a processing dialog appears which never seems to properly use the progress bars. I can see the messages disappearing from the message list quite quickly, but it takes several seconds for the dialog to disappear and report a number of deleted duplicate messages. Even though at the end there are no more unread messages in the folder I tested this on, the folder list still lists this folder in bold and with a number of unread messages. If I then move focus to a different folder and back again, the messages that had at first been removed from the list are all back again, so 'remove duplicates' has actually added up to just about nothing at all. I will now try to see what folder maintenance does for me. -- Greetings, Maurice Windows 7 6.1 Build 7601 Service Pack 1 The Bat! v5.0.6; ; AJS v24.62155; MyMacros 1.11a; Current beta is 5.0.5 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Hello Marek, We have decided to fix those two bugs first because they cause irreversable data loss (lost tabs or lost exact information about message time unless you have time zone somewhere in London). Other bugs like AVs and like can be fixed later. Those two bugs cannot becuase if the data is lost, it won't be recovered by a fix. As about hints, we will probably make them disable by default so the users won't see them (unless explicitly turned on) until we make then better. We are also considering an option by default OFF (and will not be easy to turn ON) to use Windows built-in HTML viewer for those who need to see errorneous ad HTML messages or SPAM. The authors of such messages use buggy scripts and only test their messages in Mozilla and MSIE. Google Chrome also uses the same code as Mozilla so it automatically display OK if Firefox displays OK. Those authors do not test their messages by all browsers like Opera or The Bat! so their messages are clumsy in the Opera or The Bat! or other browsers that are not based on MSIE or Mozilla. Anyway, if you will find an HTML which is displayed OK in Opera but bad in The Bat!, please let us know and we will fix The Bat!; but if an HTML is displayed BAD in Opera but OK in MSIE or Mozilla, do not contact us, please contact the authors of such messages and ask them to obey the HTML standard. -- Best regards, Maximmailto:m...@ritlabs.com Current beta is 5.0.5 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Hello Marck, MM [-] New Thread Sorting option was not working (Beta issue) Fixed! In another situation the setting New Thread sorting is not working: In the folder where I keep the bugtracker-notifications I group messages via subject. So each issue is represented by one group. In this scenario the New Thread sorting does not move the group to the top of the list when a new notification arrives. (My settings here: Expand all threads and Group by Date are switched off, Thread by is set to Subject, Sort by Created). So in summary my experience: New thread sorting by References works; New thread sorting by Subject works not. Could someone send me/post just the Exe? You can extract the exe from the msi-file using 7ZIP. Extract the MSI first, then you will find a file data1.cab which you can extract as well.
