Re: 5.3.8.5 - IMAP incoming filtering still broken - Fixed after reinstall
I was just contemplating the nuclear option but now I'm not so sure. Well I did it. A complete reinstall. What a nightmare only made slightly better because I created a script to switch between the old and new installations by copying the program and mail folders and reloading the registry for each installation. It only take you so far and there is still a massive amount to do manually. Filters can be copied and pasted via Notepad so are relatively straightforward. I didn't have any solution for: 1) Creating a $JUNK$ folder at the account level. Many junk filters referred to this. 2) Virtual folders all need to be recreated. Some had quite complex filters. 3) All Tags are lost 4) All Colour groups are lost 5) Recreating the templates at the various account and folder levels is painful. You need to remember which folder have their own templates for New, Reply and Forward. 6) Don't import your old address book. Just copy the old address book. It's amazing how customization has been done since v1.62. I'm sure there's a lot more to discover over the next few days and weeks. The bottom line is that incoming IMAP filtering now works again. I wish I felt more pleased about it. -- Best regards, Tonymailto:t...@parkinch.co.uk Current beta is 5.3.8.5 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Hello Tony, I was just contemplating the nuclear option but now I'm not so sure. TH Well I did it. A complete reinstall. What a nightmare only made TH slightly better because I created a script to switch between the old TH and new installations by copying the program and mail folders and TH reloading the registry for each installation. TH It only take you so far and there is still a massive amount to do TH manually. All the settings and modifications (templates, color groups, filters, etc.) are saved in some files in the Mail-Directory. There is a great list of which file contains which setting on the German batboard.net: http://www.batboard.net/board108-h-ufige-fragen/board83-dateiverwaltung/11616-wo-befinden-sich-welche-einstellungen-informationen/ Maybe you can run this page through Google translate. You might be able to copy one older file after the other to the new Mail-directory. Perhaps you save a little time and don't have to recreate everything from scratch. Hello mse, All the settings and modifications (templates, color groups, filters, etc.) are saved in some files in the Mail-Directory. Thanks for the tip. I was able to get the quick templates back as they are in a separate file. I believed the .FLB is where most of the configuration is held for the account - and so it turns out. I copied in the old .FLB and my virtual folders reappeared but FILTERS STOPPED WORKING. Replaced it with the new version and the filters started working again. -- Best regards, Tonymailto:t...@parkinch.co.uk The Bat! 5.3.8 Current beta is 5.3.8.5 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
