Obviously I had better read all the messages before posting...sorry.
After deleting tbuser.def (not attempting to ask who and how manages to corrupt 
that
file between two versions so that it causes crashes and can't re renamed
such as the plugin config files were)
- TheBat starts
- AntispamSniper is running
- ASS toolbar merges in smoothly with all the other toolbars

Same here - the same problem on start as before "there was a problem
starting pluging...".
Zygmunt - would you be able to please provide me an x32 of the .18 - or,
even better., .17.
Unfortunately the older betas seem to have been kicked with no sign of
attem pting to put them back on the download server :(
