I just can't figure out what.

In real life I don't need to switch themes at all. But since themes is
a new feature I was curios to see how they looked, but to no avail.

Most probably, your color settings for editor/viewer have some implicit values. 
We'll make separate color sets for light/dark themes and hope this will make 
switching between themes less painful.

I reported same thing in my .
I  have  tried  again an no way. Does anybody have any idea of what my
problem may be? As Zygmunt says, HTML messages are clearly visible.
