Hello all,

Does anybody know, why can't special folders be stored in any
directory? This needs to be redesigned, since it makes it impossible
to create some configurations which are desired.

I'll give an example, maybe anyone finds a workaround. There is a
user, he has a computer at work, and another one at home. At work he
uses a proxy server as his POP3 and SMTP, at home -- ordinary ones
(belonging to his account) and a dial-up service (hint for some of
you: dial-up is damn expensive here in Poland). He has a removable
harddrive, where he keeps his mails and he would like to be able to
download mails both at work and at home. The problem is, that his
settings are wrong on one of the computers. The ideal solution would
be, if he could keep his account.* files on every computer separately
(so that the correct config is provided) and have all folders, and
only folders on removable drive. This is currently impossible for
inbox and alike always reside in the same folder as account.* files.

I gave him a workaround -- he could use a batch file to replace
account.cfg, but this isn't too elegant. Other workarounds, like
leaving mails on server, and re-downloading them at home are
 precluded.

So again, is there any sensible reason why we can't change the
 directory of special folders?

 Regards guys,
