Oh, yeah, I'm aware of the compression savings ... I've just NEVER
had a need for the RAR utilities since it's rarely used (in my
experience, anyway) here in the U.S. except for its wide acceptance
on many of the warez groups on Usenet.  I've never seen a software
distribution from a legitimate source that has used it before.

Thanks ... I grudgingly grabbed and installed PowerArchiver 2000
from TheSlaughterHouse.com ... but it's the sudden need for it that
*still* frosts me.  If it had been necessary for the past year or so
I would've LONG gotten over it, but this sudden, seemingly arbitrary
and unannounced change is what I feel is frelling odd, and I'm still
basking in the glow of righteous indignation.
