Hello Jim,

Thank you for the warm words. How neat. We are eager to improve existing
functionality rather then introducing new one. Should you let us know which of
the old features are working not so good or not very intuitive, let us know so
we could improve.

Hi Maxim,

   You guys do GREAT work!

This from a 20 yr. user of the TheBat! That hasn't been active on
the list for a long while but only because with 20 yrs. of messages
from 6 accounts with almost 500K messages sorted to over a thousand
folders I tend to be very careful with upgrading till a version
looks pretty stable for a while... You can see attached my first
message from you folks 20 yrs. ago!

Keep up the SUPER work! I'd dare anyone to point to another email
offering that could live up to my workload and still be searchable
after all this time! I'm still running v7.4.14 for a long time
without any problem but watching the list it looks like about time
for another upgrade to 8.x :-)

Best regards,
 Jim

It works with the command-line parameters.
However,
When I send a message, the whole program shuts and ceases to operate.

I have to start it back up to get working.

The Bat! 8.5.4 MSI files

2018-07-04 Thread Maxim Masiutin
Hello All!

Please try The Bat! 8.5.4 MSI files:

https://www.ritlabs.com/download/the_bat/thebat_32_8-5-4.msi
https://www.ritlabs.com/download/the_bat/thebat_64_8-5-4.msi

What's new in version 8.5.4 since version 8.5 released on June 26, 2018:

[+] Added the following Diffie-Hellmann cipher suites to the whole set of
ciphersuites that can be used for Perfect Forward Secrecy:
[+] A command-line option /SMTP_DELAY_AFTER_SEND:N to specify delay in
milliseconds to wait after sending each message, before sending a new message.
This delay may only be made if several messages are sent during a single SMTP
connection. For example, for 2-second delay, specify
/SMTP_DELAY_AFTER_SEND:2000. Minimum value is 1 and maximum is 6. After
sending a message, you will be able to see SMTP status "Delay N ms..." if this
option is active.
[+] Added a command-line option /DISABLE_TLS12 which disables TLS 1.2 and is
equivalent to /TLS_VERSION_RANGE:0-2
[+] Now a meanginful error message is given to the log when the server
disconnects during TLS handshake
[-] Fixed an error of simulteneous access to the ACCOUNT.ATB file which could
lead to write error to this file when multipile accounts with OAUTH were trying
to simultaneously write to this file
[-] Fixed incompatibility with some TLS 1.2 servers which aborted the connction
unless The Bat! sends signature_algorithms ClientHello extension on TLS 1.2
[-] Some interface strings were not translatable
