TF This is a nice addition, thanks. Will report back whether it works

It works, as I said earlier.

TF Remark: If I click on the link in one notification and then, while the
TF despatcher is still working on downloading headers, click on another,
TF the second one will will never execute. Waiting for despatcher
TF forever.

This has been fixed, as I just noticed! The second large message will
wait for the first to be downloaded completely, and then it will
indeed open the despatcher where I can choose to download it. Thanks.

I use it a lot on my DUN connection at home. You see, in the office we
receive a lot of documents that in earlier times would be faxed, thus
being large PDF files. We have broadband at the office and anyway, I
download from the POP server on the LAN, so size is no problem.

At home, I use a DUN connection, and I don't usually need to see these
mails with the large attachments. Sometimes I do, so the relatively
new download URL comes in very handy.

How do I tell whether I need to download that mail with all the
attachments? I scroll down to the subject line and see what it's
about. Now, with TB 3.65.01, I don't need to do that any more, very
convenient.

(By the way, with Eudora I can also download the first x number of
lines in the body. Sometimes I do want to read the text but don't care
for the attachments. So with TB, I need to download the whole mail
with attachments, but Eudora will already show me the first 20 lines
or whatever I've put in my settings. That's even better, but I'm not
complaining.)

There is a small (minor, cosmetic) thing I would like to mention about
the subject line.

The original subject is:

PRE-ALERT

It becomes:

[LARGE MESSAGE] PRE-ALERT (Large message arrived to your address)

I think one mentioning of Large message would be enough. The part at
the end in parenthesis (round brackets) is now superflous methinks.

There is still a problem in TB! v. 3.65.msi (Pro) with Address Book
templates that use Quick Templates with the macro %QINCLUDE= .

I reported this on behalf of a German correspondent of mine in regard
to v. 3.64.03. The template that isn't working for him is:

   -Template
   %QINCLUDE=PrGreeting

   %Cursor

   %QINCLUDE=SigEPr

   %ENCRYPTCOMPLETE
   %LANGUAGE=BR
   %ACCOUNT=Puretec
   -Template

He has sent me a report this morning that v. 3.65 still doesn't work
correctly with respect to templates, QT's and macros.

The only difference in his template for me from the one he uses for
other English-speaking correspondents is the line %ENCRYPTCOMPLETE .

For them, the AB template functions--for them, though, TB! is not
asked to encrypt.

He is using PGP/MIME, if that might be relevant, although my thinking
is that it is not relevant.

TB! will not call this template. Instead, for my address, it calls his
template for German-speaking correspondents in v. 3.65, as it did in
v. 3.64.03.

Note besides, that this AB template for me worked in v. 3.64.01,
before the update to v. 3.64.03. But upon dropping back to v. 3.64.01,
the functioning of his AB template for me remained broken.

Needless to say, we shall both greatly appreciate your help in fixing
this. My correspondent is Dierk Haasis.

I myself found the situation so ambiguous that I went to the
www.ritlabs.com Download page, to be sure that there wasn't a link
there for it.

RL has published .msi releases as full releases in the recent past,
with no notification on TBBETA that this was what was being done.

So I think the confusion is understandable.

I hope that RitLabs will wait to publish beta v. 3.65 until the
testers who have found show-stopping bugs in it and filed issue
reports at BT have confirmed to BT that each of these bugs is either
fixed or explained in a satisfactory way--even if the explanation is
that it's Working As Designed and there to stay, whether the
particular beta-testing reporter likes the design or not.

I have opened editor, wrote three chars and TB autocompleted address

The installation of the program went well. However, serious problems
exist in the version with the search feature.

If I select a domain
Search in Headers
The program locks up and reports and access error.

I have been able to reproduce this error ten times.

Has any one opened a bug report that I can add to or should I start a
new one.

I have now down graded to the Christmas version in order to send this

The Bat! v3.65 MSI

The Bat! v3.65 MSI

Hi All

I am really struggling with the validity of releasing untested MSIs. I
agree that it is totally within RIT's right to do so but it sure
doesn't seem like a good practice. This MSI has too many problems for
me to consider installing it as I do not have the time to mess with
it. It has only been due to almost 8 years of TB usage that I can
tolerate these types of decisions without jumping ship. I hope this
can be reevaluated with a high priority on tested stability for MSI
releases.

Hang on .. this is the *test* forum. The MSI has been released to us
for testing. I hear there is some new fangled exe compression in this
MSI that needs our validation (just by breadth of install).

Releasing an MSI for testing here is only expected. Heck, I'd rather
they did that than just announce 6.5 as a public release without us
ripping it to shreds first!

V. 3.65 .msi is not presently on the Download page at www.ritlabs.com

I most earnestly second the sentiment that all .msi versions be
thoroughly tested by the beta testers and the show-stopping or other
major bugs fixed--and give time for BT reports and
confirmations--before a full release to the public.

2006-01-10 Thread Robert D.
Recently, Maxim Masiutin squawked:

 http://www.ritlabs.com/download/files3/the_bat/beta/thebat_pro_3-65.msi
 http://www.ritlabs.com/download/files3/the_bat/beta/thebat_home_3-65.msi

running

the only note is that the anomaly about dragging the scroll-bar to
it's bottom and doing it until the scroll-bar size will not get
smaller, causes TB! to be unusable. But I see in Task Manager it
still uses about .6% CPU. Just that there is no GUI access to TB! at
that moment.

2006-01-10 Thread MAU
Hello Ethan,

 If I select a domain
 Search in Headers
The program locks up and reports and access error.

I have been able to reproduce this error ten times.

No lock up or crash here but I can confirm the Search problem, won't
find my domain rancho-k.com while v3.64.01 will find plenty of them.

Has any one opened a bug report that I can add to or should I start a
 new one.

You found the bug, it is your privilege to open the BT report :)

I guess I should have checked. I made the wrong assumption that MSI's
were automatically used as releases. (Must be something in my past
life that prompted that).

Just a single question:

Are you going to do some sorely needed work on IMAP any time soon?

I'd like to remind you gentlemen at Ritlabs (actually only the heads of
marketing and development) that IMAP was promised as of version 2.

Now we are nearly at version 4 and still no working IMAP.

I'd appreciate if you will forward this message to the relevant parties,
Max. Thank you.
