That *would* be wise, seeing as we are now living in the age of mobile devices running iOS/Android, where very different pricing strategies are employed compared to "legacy OSs"... ;-) Right now, on RITlabs's official licence purchase page: http://www.ritlabs.com/en/order/order_eur.php the price for an upgrade of Home is listed at €19.60. So, starting from tomorrow, 1st October, the same upgrade will only cost €15.95? PS: I am running a complimentary Bat licence currently that I received due to having been a Beta tester in recent years (or should I say decades). But, the Bat's Beta-testing now seems to have collapsed in Slovakia/Czech Republic, the mailing list no longer exists... so I guess I'll need to *purchase* a licence now -- which is OK with me, as €15.95 seems like an acceptable price to me (yes, it would make iOS/Android fans scream with outrage, but...). -- Yours, Alex. of Slovakia www.avenarius.sk [flying with The Bat! 5.4 under Windows 7 64-bit 6.1 Build 7601 Service Pack 1 AMD Athlon II X4 645 @ 3.10 GHz & 8 GB RAM] Current beta is 5.4.8.0 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Re: The Bat! v5.8
This is plain stupid... As this is the beta list, with people enthuastic about TB, like TB, lets talk about it here. Maxim: we know each other for more than 10 years and I sold licenses in Hungary, so please allow to be honest, for YOUR and RITLABS's benefit. Normal people/users dont understand, never understood your system. There are two problems: a.) serial is good from ver X.YY-ver(X+2).0.ZZ??? What? Show me ANY other software that works that way. I know, geniuses are one of a kind, but there is a reason why all other softwares work differently. b.) you ask money from people for FUTURE accomplisments... That is what the "serial is good from ver X.YY-ver(X+2).0.ZZ" suggests. I would say that rename 5.8 to 6.0. Old serials work, as you promised it to old users. After that, IMMEDIATELY, not even changing anything, you change it to 6.1, new serial number system. Whoever buy it new or upgrade, serial is good for v6.1-6.9 versions. You work ONLY on bug fixes, nothing new, at least nothing MAJOR. You do it for a half a year or so. During fix, you release v6.2... v6.9. THEN you work on new versions/major improvements, NOT RELEASING anything publicly. Once there is significant improvement, v7.0 that needs new serial. And you are back on track with your serial number system and payment system, etc. You may give beta testers limited time serials or handle them the way you want. This is your opportunity to make a clean start: Vili On Tue, Sep 24, 2013 at 11:56 AM, Stephen R Kreyling wrote: > Hello Maxim, > > So, if I purchase an upgrade in a couple days, I can get a new license > that will work with with 5 and the new 6?
