here on my computer conversion worked smooth; no messages lost ;)

I'm going to guess he's referring to the need to buy an upgrade with the jump in Voyager versions. Like the already mentioned gotcha with the upgrade, there is no warning that the new version of Voyager will require you to purchase an upgrade before you load it in. But he is using 4.1.7.3 already, so he should have an actually valid key.
