HO Are you planning to add an other Junk-Plugin to the TheBat!-MSI ?
HO What about Regula? This plugin is actively developed and maintained.

I think plug-ins should not be distributed with the main program. That
defeats the purpose of them being plug-ins, they could just be part of
the core program. The idea of plug-ins is that only those who want
them can download them and plug them in.

The concept of a centralised plug-in download website is a good idea
IMHO, like with Firefox.

I used BayesIt for a long time. On the plus side, BayesIt was the only
filter I used that never gave me a false positive, something that I
weigh pretty highly. But, as someone else mentioned, it takes a lot
of mail to train it (I used to keep a couple thousand spam and ham
messages around for those time when I had to retrain it g) My other
complaint was that it tended to 'get lost' as to what was spam over
time and I would have to dump the training base and re-train (hence
the large training sample wink)

It worked ... OK for me, but I have moved on to Agava's anti-spam for
TB. TB is more stable with it installed and it learns pretty quickly.
But it is not free. But it is pretty affordable, less than $20 when I
last looked.

Quite awhile ago, a new version of AGAVA was announced here.
I asked several times, directly through their webpage, about
it, never got any answer.

Two times I needed and asked for support, neither got any
answer too on my emails.

So, at least towards me, the support of AGAVA is awful bad.
That's why I'm thinking of stepping over to another
antispam tool.

I have not needed support ... yet, so cannot comment on it. Sorry you
didn't have a good experience with them ... since it means that my
posterior may be 'flapping in the wind' if I ever need support :-/

I am truly a newbie ( 6 months, although I have heard of it for
years) with TB but am slowly - very slowly - learning the amazing
capacities of this program - although my heart (not my usage) still
lies with Pegasus, if only because (like TB) it is/was a sturdy,
powerful mail program developed by a small group of outsiders and
not Microsoft or AOL or Qualcomm.

My question has to do with the spam filtering plugin - I have started
to use the free version of Spam Sniper for TB. I have not used
BayesIt. Does one of you long time TB users have reasons for or

I hope all of you had a great Christmas with family and/or friends,
even though it seems quite common for the season to bring a touch of
melancholy along with the joy of communion with one's fellow human
beings and an awareness that the message of Christmas reveals that
Love is at the core of the Universe, appearances notwithstanding.

I have been using BayesIt for a while, until I found AntiSpamSniper. I
wouldn't want to go back. :)

AntiSpamSniper is more accurate and learns better. I use the free
version, as I don't need (or want to run the risk of) deleting the
spam on the server before downloading. I disabled BayesIt on my
previous installations each time. :)

BayesIt plugin is obsolete; we no longer develop it, and it has some unfixed
bugs that could cause problems of The Bat! when it receives messages via POP3.
However, some users find BayesIt stable and ask us to keep it; for them we have
released Bayesit.msi.
