Point-in-case: I just worked while on an airplane. In this case, I just needed
some info that was in some old emails, so I fired up my TB!v9 and looked it up.
If TB!v10 does not start up if there is no internet connection, I cannot
install it on my laptop.

Dear Thomas,

I can confirm that I am not able to even start beta 6 without internet
connection - after closing the "login to beta" window, TB just exits. This is
unacceptable. I use TB for the ability to access my huge email documentation at
all times.

I hope this is just a beta issue or if not - that Ritlabs will reconsider and
allow us to travel and only require connection when it is needed - i.e for
receiving and sending emails. As opposed to turning TB into webmail.

Hello Beta,

So today I pressed reply from an email in one account ad was typing in Courier,
a font I'm desperatly trying to get rid of and then I did the same in another
account and the reply was in Arial as asked. So I decided to copy the seemingly
identical reply template from the working one to the non working one. While
doing so I noticed what changed was  "%CURSOR."  In the working on it used
%CURSOR, in the non working on it used  %Cursor.  Upper casing the word cursor
in the non working one made it work as expected.

If off-line work is not possible with TB!v10, it is not a viable software for

Thank you.

I did install V10 Beta 6.

It failed on the mapi and did not work well.

In a nutshell, the installer is not doing its job to create the right set up in
the registry. It appears Windows must see the program exe and not the launcher
exe.

I look forward to seeing Beta 7 with the items fixed.

Thanks,

Jerry

One consistent problem I find is the Tblauncher.exe file.

I am running Windows 11, 64 bit.

The current beta keeps putting this file in the program director and putting
thebat.exe some where deep in the c: user \appdata\ local \ thebat! ...

My other programs do not put their *.exe file so deep into appdata.

Is there a reason why TheBat has shifted to this new practice?

Hello,

I uninstalled previous beta and unpinned from taskbar, beta 6 installed in
non-default folder and the TB icon is missing:

"Windows can't find the file
%SystemRoot%\Installer\{0CA53753-F935-4F8A-A3E0-2B95CFDB0361}\TheBatIcon."

The newly created start-menu shortcut is invalid, as is the newly-pinned
taskbar entry. I can manually start TB by clicking TBLauncher64.exe in the
customs folder. But pinning this again creates invalid shortcut.

I personally adored previous TB for the possibility to install it in folder of
my choice. What was the need to move it to appdata\local?

I followed the instructions on a test machine in my office.

1. Mapi does not work. mailto is set to tblauncher. Every time I use a mail
to option, it opens Outlook.
2. I had to dig down into a sub folder of \AppData\ to find the exe to make the
program work.

There is some wrong in the install program app. Installing a beta has never
been this difficult or challenge.

Trying to fix the registry also does not work.
> If I change the "Default" registry key at
> "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\The Bat! mailto\shell\open\command"
> To run TheBat.exe instead of TBLauncher MailTo works OK

Over all, I got this version installed. The proposed fixes to Mailto and mapi
do not work at all.

I look forward to a more stable beta.

Thank you.

Jerry

Let's proceed this way and see whether you can get the beta running:

1. Uninstall The Bat! via the Control Panel.
2. Make sure "The Bat!" folder is removed from C:\Program Files\...\ and from
C:\Users\{UserName}\AppData\Local\...\ Delete them manually should these
folders still reside on the disk.
3. Delete all shortcuts and unpin The Bat! from the Taskbar.
4. Restart Windows.
5. Install nau_thebat_64_10-0-0-6.msi
6. Access the Windows "Start" menu, start typing "The Bat!" and eventually
start it up.

Does it start then?

It failed.

Installed and it would not start.  I have revert back to the current official
release.

Up to this point, non of the betas  have
a) installed correctly
b) MAPI does not work

Looking forward to testing a beta that can I can install and run.

Thanks,

Jerry

We believe we will update Chromium and see whether the issue is resolved.
Nevertheless, please send us the updated ex_log.txt and TheBat_Exceptions.log
files from your mail folder containing "fresh" error messages.

Thank you for your feedback. We need the ex_log.txt and TheBat_Exceptions.log
from the root of the mail folder. Delete these files and once the error appear,
check them. If they contain new entries, send us these files please.

With automatic update, you just need to restart The Bat! after the updated

How long do I wait this. It fixed! Thank you!

For all who's will do his own buttons: TB still can reset buttons and interface
to default after changing. Don't forget to backup tbuser.def after doing
changes. It will help you to store you own view of buttons.

Dear All,

v10 beta 6 is now available from https://beta.thebat.net/version/9

It is recommended to uninstall the Beta you have currently installed and
install the newer MSI because major fixes were made to the installation process
itself.
