Where's the smilies?

Hi. Using The Bat! 2.12 and I simply can't seem to find where to use smilies. I've looked everywhere, and just cannot discover them. I just know it's gotta be under my nose, so could some kind person please put me out of my misery and tell me? Many thanks. Peter in New Zealand.
