Hello...

My system had a problem yesterday with internet and as I was expecting
on Saturday to do a clean install on a new drive and reinstall 98
didnt work, I tried as before a temp upgrade with 2000...

There is a danger I didnt realise and which maybe useful to know....
I got as far as installing required files and then it deletes some
windows files, reboots and starts copying really required files.
The cdrom had a hickup on one file and the system just stopped.
NO idea if I did it the wrong way but only thing to do was power
button...
Result NO 98 and NO 2000.
Clean 2000's didnt work on this box (now it does though) but anyway
after much messing around I now run my 2000.
Problem, 3 directories with 'found' files with no recognisable
extensions and absolutely no sign of any old desktop/my documents
files....

Presumably I lost that lot and while I had backups of most, it seems
a good advice before updating your windows like I did to remove that
stuff.
Lucky I run the Bat (g), and Agent...
So nothing lost there....

Anyway, anyone writing me, I may not be on the net a lot as there are
still problems with the isps and normally that means they donot do
anything now for days as its Thai New Year.

Best regards,
