This has really been my only real problem with v3 (so far). I did try using TB IMAP with a dial-up over the Christmas holiday, and it choked. But it seemed to only choke on this account (the one I use for lists) which has about 12K messages across 26 folders. And it was a simple matter of Aborting all tasks with the account - that is, no lock-up or anything. Not exactly ideal, but nowhere near the nightmare IMAP problems of the past. I am on the beta list watching IMAP develop, but don't have the time (or patience) to try out the latest and greatest.
