I uncheck the box for each account under Account/Options/Check Mail at
Startup and set each account (5 here) to check in time increments of 1, 3,
5, 7 and 9 minutes respectively. You may also set one account to check at
startup and the other 3 to check in xxx amount of minutes.

Works here.
