It  gets  particularly  irritating  when you use the SMTP£ server from
your own domain, but your actual Internet connection is not your fixed
line DSL at home. In those cases (e.g. hotel wifi, SIM card in a 3G/4G
router), if you can find what the SMTP server
is,  then  port 25 works, but some don't seem to have one. A VPN fixes
the  problem.  Otherwise,  you  have  to ask your hosting provider for
alternatives to port 25.

I know of several ISPs that do it, and I do it myself on the networks
I manage (especially those that are intended for [more or less]
general public).
