Re: Any way to make global column sizes?

Hello Marc,

where I live) witnesses say Marc Weinmann typed:

 tbuDL,

By Globally, do you mean across accounts? No.

If you mean across folders within a single account, yes. Go into
each folder's properties dialogue and make sure "Use account column
settings" is checked. Unfortunately, you must select this option on
every folder that you want to have the same settings.

Now what would be really neat is if you could create arbitrary column
and sorting profiles. Then you could apply a profile to a given
folder, and switch between profiles on the fly. I imagine this would
be difficult to implement in a usable fashion, so I won't pursue it
 any further...

Re: Question about address book entry

2000-09-05 Thread Januk Aggarwal

Hello Larry,

On Tuesday, September 05, 2000 at 20:25:43 GMT -0300 (which was 4:25 PM
where I live) witnesses say Larry Barrett typed:

 Hello TBUDL,

   However, when I try
to type in the name again - it continues to insist on surrounding
that name with quotation marks even though I had removed it, and had
reentered it in my address book "without" quotation marks.

Are there any special characters in these names? Can you give us an
example of a name which fails?

   This
makes the auto completion function useless (in this case) - because
it won't start with the name, but, with the quotation mark.

I don't trust AutoComplete features. I find more often than not that
I end up choosing the wrong suggestion.

My question is - how do I get rid of - for good - any old auto
 complete address.

You might have to delve into the registry, but I'm not sure about
that. I'll let someone else have a shot at this one.

Up till not, I remove it only to have the same thing
   reappear.

Do the address book entries have the quotation marks after you've
corrected them? I'm just trying to determine if the fault is with
the address book or the auto complete function. What happens if you
try to delete a name that is correct from the autocomplete list?

Sharing between desktop and laptop

2000-09-05 Thread David Tod Sigafoos

Last week I asked about sharing data between TB on my desktop and my
laptop.

I was told to simply export TB from the registry and import into the
laptop.

SO I went to my office machine, Start/Run/Regedit and did the export.
Then I copied the file to my laptop and Start/Run/Regedit and import.
Selected the file and POW!!! i was told it wasnt are real registry
file. Imagine my surprise after so many said it was so simple.

So .. how do I share data? My desktop is a w2k system. The laptop is
a win98.

if anyone from tb is there maybe they could chime in.
