Doesn't work on messages with HTML only. When I look at the messages
with another mail app the fonts are bigger but in TheBat they are
really tiny!

I replied to this query yesterday on TBBETA. The default font size for
an HTML message is 9pt and if you increase this too much it will be a
problem for the recipient. Nonetheless, you should be able to change the
font size using Options | Preferences | HTML/Windows Editor. Make sure
you've set the editor defaults correctly too.

However, if you wish to display larger fonts you should use the Windows
display settings; i.e. change the DPI in advanced settings.

That's what I guessed. Strange thing is: when I display the same
message say in Becky I can read it perfectly, the same like seeing the
html part in IE itself. Only TheBAt uses the tiny fonts.
Normally these messages are from OE or Outlook users with the default

Hi Christopher,

From the TB Help:

You can add some start-up parameters to it to define a set of actions
performed whenever you open the Shortcut. For example, if the Shortcut
is located in the Windows Startup folder, you may want to switch off
the The Bat! startup Logo by adding the /NOLOGO parameter, so the
Target property of the shortcut becomes something like this:

C:\Program Files\The Bat!\TheBat.EXE /NOLOGO

If the composer used relative fonts, the base font size affects the

Problem with antispam

Well, I am a registered user of TheBat! business and have troubles
with the Bayesit! (the standard antispam plugin) since I upgraded to
the version 2.10.
I tried to apply the version 053 as written on the Ritlabs web site
but this is not better.

1/ since I upgraded, the button to edit the rules is
greyed (I can't press it)

2/ marking messages junk or not junk doesn't work anymore : if I
receive the same message it has the same status it had before being
classified as junk or not junk.

Please, do you know a solution ?

First, close TheBat!.

Then, remove (delete) the spambases located in X:\*BatInstallFolder*\Mail\BayesIt\Base\

The files to remove are:
nspamdict.*
spamdict.*

You will then need to restart TheBat! and reclassify some good mail
and some spam mail. The old spambases are not compatible with the
newer version of the plug-in. There was also an issue with the 0.5
version of the plugin that caused some issue in the spambase.

Perhaps someone else can elaborate on the why, but this worked for me.

Hello Chris,

 anybody PLEASE mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Please don't quote email addresses in your replies. Thanks.

If the composer used relative fonts, the base font size affects the
size of text. For example, a paragraph with text-size: larger; and a
base size of 12 points would be about 14.5 points large. Is there any
way to set this base font size?

I don't know. I never ever send HTML email and and when I receive one
(fortunately not too often) I just read the plain text version that TB
displays.

how do I retrieve missing test folders mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

A silly question if I may... if they are important mails, why are
 you using them for testing?
What if he's not using them for testing. What if it is the name of a
legitamate folder. He could be a teacher:
+ Spanish 1
  + Quiz
  + Test
  + Homework
+ Spanish 3
  + Quiz
  + Test
  + Homework

He could be a developer:
+ My Project
  + Bug Report
  + Test
  + Patches

The possibilities are endless.

How do I get access to the messages in my folders named test?

Have you tried importing the messages into new folders?
Tools - Import messages - From The Bat! message base
etc. :)

I realize this isn't an ideal solution but it should get you access to
the mail you're unable to get to now.

Tell you what. Go to Ritlab's website and try and find references to TB

How about finding a way to report bugs? Anyone see a link to Bug
Tracker on the RitLabs site?

What's going on with RitLabs? Lots of unhappy users, no post from
Stefan for over two weeks...

Re:IMAP: Deleted messages

Hi Jonathan,

What's wrong with Browse deleted messages under the Folder menu?

Um. That wasn't Martin's question. When I've been using TB in IMAP mode
I've found myself logging onto the server direct to find out what's
happening with the emails there. TB's implementation is awful.

Hi Jonathan,

With the strike through? I've seen it in 2 programs I think.

From my experience this is the standard for - at least - OE, Outlook,
Mulberry, mailservers such as FastMail, servers implementing HORDE such
as MailSnare ...
