MB But I don't expect to see him back here, given that the only advice
MB he received from fellow members of TBUDL was to read the Help File or
MB to go back to his ISP for help.

spam locking TheBat!

2005-11-29 Thread Terry G. Munson
Hi All

I have been receiving a strange type of junk e-mail. The e-mail is
obviously spam and gets filtered to my junk folder.

If I click on the e-mail to delete it, TB! locks and will not respond.
I have to kill TB! with the task manager. The only way I can delete
this e-mail is to pick an e-mail above and shift-pick below and
delete the group.

Has anyone had a similar problem?

Re[2]: Modifiers on Reply buttons

Does anyone know what it means? What Shift or Ctrl are supposed to
change to the Reply button anyway?

It means that if you highlight a portion of the body text and hold
down the shift key, then press the Reply button, only the highlighted
(selected) portion of the message you're replying to will be quoted in
 your Edit Mail Message window.

The change is that now the Reply to All button will also work the same
way as the Reply button. Highlight a portion of text in a message.
Hold down the shift key. Click the Reply to All button. Your reply to
all will quote only the selected (highlighted) text in your Edit
 Mail Message window.

Thanks for your reply Mary.

I can now use Shift-Reply as you explain, and it's useful.

I don't understand what Ctrl-Reply does, even when text is selected.

As for Shift-Reply All, it doesn't work as I would expect (works like
a normal Reply All), and this is probably where editing of TBUser.DEF
is required. Any experience, someone?

I had never seen any discussion about Ctrl-Reply.

With or without selected text, it gives me an Edit Mail Message window
displaying from my Reply template, but with nothing at all quoted from
the original message.

I can't envision when one would want to do this. But maybe the RitLabs
developers have a need in mind.

As for Shift-Reply All, it doesn't work as I would expect (works

It works as anticipated for me. Functions the same as Shift-Reply.

Yes, I expect that's it. If you haven't done any Customizations (from
Tools/Toolbars/Customise) then you can safely delete TBUser.DEF.

And the change in the function of Reply to All should then work.

Some time back I deleted TBuser.DEF. I didn't really have a need for
any of the customizations I had made when testing the beta series when
those new Customise functions were being developed.

So it was no loss to me, and I didn't even bother to do any
customizing after that.

So far as I know, there's no way to selectively edit TBUser.DEF.

The choice is to delete it and then re-do all your customizations, or
forego the changes in function that it is blocking.

But--someone else may have different, more recent, and more welcome
information for you.

If you have spent a lot of time doing customizations, you might prefer
to do without the convenience of selective quoting using
Shift-Reply-to-All.

OT: Yahoogroups and GMX

2005-11-29 Thread Thomas F
Hello TBUDL,

Sorry for off-topic, but I cannot send to TBOT. When sending, I get
this error message:

!29/11/2005, 21:53:32: SEND - Server reports it is not ready, reply: 4.3.2
 and see( http://www.gmx.net/serverrules )

Yahoogroups suspended sending to me and reports Hard Bounce, with server reply:

 Last Bounced Message
 Remote host said: 550 5.7.1 ( http://www.gmx.net/serverrules ) [RCPT_TO]

What is this nonsense? Has GMX gone crazy? Does anybody with a GMX
address experience the same?

Newflash: This email didn't leave last night when I wrote it, because
I cannot send from GMX to TBUDL/TBBETA either. I had to subscribe with
this back-up address. I receive mails from TBUDL/TBBETA on my GMX
account, however.

Yep. I had a similar email which would do the same thing. I found that
if I changed the VIEW so that the body of the email wouldn't display,
I could delete it.
