Ahh, I get it now. My explanation of the behavior of the '~' file is, I
think, still correct. As to why you are not seeing any spam filtering,
if you your black and white lists are doing was much as you say, I think
that means that not much mail is getting to the actual BayesIt filter to
be counted. Having said that, would have expected some info there. I
can send you a copy of my stat.bin if you think that might help. Or
uninstall / reinstall the plug in might help. My stat.bin is a binary
file, so there may be a required structure for it to be recognized as a
 valid stat file.

Well, I've taken your lead and installed a copy of AGAVA for a trial. And I
have to say that first impressions are pretty favourable. I trained it up
with my batch of spam emails and its working very well.

It certainly *seems* a lot easier to get going than BayesIt!

Ive been using it for almost the full 30 days. I like it as well.
After training a few emails its working well. Ill probably end up
purchasing it.

Yes, I just registered my copy a couple of days ago. In most ways it
works better than BayesIt, but I still get more false positives with
it than with BayesIt. But I am still tweeking the settings g

Flying Bat display for incoming mail

2006-01-12 Thread Thomas Michael
Hello

I was recently referred to this list and following the initial
instructions I set up a special folder to collect the incoming emails
relating to this list.
I would like to exclude this folder from the flying bat display .
I managed to adjust the mail ticker so that incoming mail is no longer
displayed as such but cannot find a way to train the bat to remain
sleepy if mail is received for this particular folder.
Is this possible?
