Hello,

Further to the above. I created a new Quick Template and tried it as
described in my first posting. It still doesn't work for (a) replies
and (b) forwarded messages.

However, %QINCLUDE works as expected when I create a *new* message
addressed to any person in my Addressbook for whom I specifically
provided the particular Quick Template to be used for *new* messages.

It appears that in installation the Account Properties settings for
replies and forwarded messages override the Addressbook adjustments,
as far as replies and forwarded messages are concerned.

In all cases the account templates are overridden by folder templates
which are in turn overridden by address book group templates which are
finally superceded by address book entry templates.

This only fails to work when there are two entries in the address book
for the person in question. I don't have any reply templates that are
*not* driven by a very complex web of QTs. Most work at the address
book group level.

a specific Quick Template for replies to you.

What I found is that if I click on your email address in the preview

the problem is with the toolbar button.

I also confirm what you wrote about the presence of two entries in the

I'm not using earthlink :) but smtpauth.something sure sounds like they
require authentication before you can use their SMTP server to relay
messages.

Check Account / Properties / Transport.

There's a button Authentication.

Check the tickbox use SMTP authentication

Enter the username and password for your earthlink account below (or
simply use same user/password as for Mail Retrieval if its the same)

That should do it.

I press the toolbar Reply button, the Quick Template doesn't work.
So the problem is with the toolbar button.

Perhaps. It could also be some funkyness with Reply-To headers. If,
for some reason, they don't match (in this case, a list message from
Marck has it's reply to set for the list, not for him), the person's
reply template won't be triggered. In the example we have going, when
you simply click reply, you are actually replying to the list, so
whatever you have in the list's addressbook entry will be used.
However, when you specifically select Marck's address as the one to
use, his personal template is used.

I did that; but it doesn't work. As I was writing this, I thought I
would give it another try -- with one change. Instead of using same
user/password, I checked use specific settings. That change made
it work -- even though the specific settings is the same as same
user. Weird.

Inbox-Known

2006-06-11 Thread z5worg
Two questions on Inbox-Known:

1. When my cursor in on Inbox-Known and I on New Message, the account
that is being used is Account1234, by default. I don't recall setting
the account to be used for Inbox-known. Is there a way to set the
default account to another account? [I don't know whether this is a
coincidence but Inbox-Known is just below Account1234 -- in the Accounts
pane.]

2. In a regular account, I can instruct it to ignore the Reading
Confirmation. However, some of my mail is filtered to Inbox-Known
immediately upon retrieval. When those email are read in Inbox-Known, it
generates a Reading Confirmation Receipt (for each email that requested a
Reading confirmation); and put it in the Outbox of Account1234. How can I
get the Inbox-Known to ignor the Reading Confirmation Request?

I don't have over-ride under Templates.

Last Fetch variable?

2006-06-11 Thread Munango-Keewati
Hello TBUDL,

One improvement I'd like to institute on my machine would be a virtual
folder containing only the most recently received messages--messages
from the last fetch. I don't think this is currently possible, but
could be wrong.

Since TB! displays date and time of the last fetch, it might be
possible to capture and store that information before making the
current fetch, then use it to create a time range for items to include
in the virtual folder. But it sounds like a job for the TB! coding
team.

Any thoughts or suggestions? I'd love to see this built into
the virtual folder options.
