Exception errors
Hello Fellow TheBat users, I'm experiencing an increasing frequency of External Exception errors (code C06 appears) (about 10 times a day) which then give rise to a variety of outcomes: 1. The Bat appears to function (you can open folders etc.) but cannot send anything, and the error message reappears after each keystroke. 2. The program freezes and can only be closed using Windows Task manager or sometimes only by rebooting 3. The program just closes This problem has only manifested itself during the past 3 weeks or so, with increasing frequency. Nothing much has changed apart from installing some antispam plugins (see more details below) Conditions. The problem frequently manifests when attempting to send an email but also randomly. We are running a copy of the Bat Professional on a peer to peer server under Windows XP SP2, with four people on other machines sharing this with their own accounts. This arrangement has functioned with no previous problems since we moved to the Bat 2 years ago. The total size of the message archive is about 11,000 messages. We are using the current release version of the Bat. Things I have tried: Reinstalling the current version of the Bat-had no effect Plugins I have been experimenting with antispam plugins, first Agava and then Antispam Sniper, following recommendations in this forum. When the problems started, I first uninstalled the plugins completely, but the problems continued. I then reinstalled Sniper in the local machine directory instead of the Server. Problem remained the same. I also have the Google desktop indexing plugin installed. I have not yet tried uninstalling this. Should I try this? The only option I have not tried is installing the most recent beta version of the Bat. Would this be worth a try? Any other ideas? -- Best regards, David mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- Best regards, David mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Current version is 3.80.06 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

But remember that in Notes, the Sent folder isn't a folder - it's a view. I'm honestly not sure what effect this will have on the operation. Correct - e-mail in LNotes is just another database, and as such operates with views. It is a pity it's IMAP doesn't exactly work as expected by an IMAP client. IMHO it shouldn't have been that hard to properly code at least the default folders as views towards the database into the IMAP service (which is gateway, actually - over a decade ago, I've struggled with the -then 3rd party- gateway that allowed external communication using UUCP, a sort of POP3 but with a twist). Apart from the somewhat stubborn implementation of e-mail, LNotes is still my favorite workgroup app. -- Happy flappin'! HOWTO for syncing Voyager?
I'm looking for a step-by-step set of instructions for how to sync between The Bat! and Voyager. There is a rumor that the help files describe it in detail (http://www.ritlabs.com/en/forum/read.php?FID=4TID=3177MID=12829phrase_id=1262411#message12829) but in my .chm help files I can't find any mention of Voyager, and syncing just has to do with IMAP. I started with Tools Synchronize... in TB, but outside of choosing the files and address books, I can't figure out the three steps. -- Andrew Diederich [EMAIL PROTECTED] Current version is 3.80.06 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Hello Andrew, On Fri, 4 Aug 2006 you wrote in mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED] AD I started with Tools Synchronize... in TB, but outside of choosing AD the files and address books, I can't figure out the three steps. Thank goodness I'm not the only one then. It's not at all clear as to which version you synchronise from and to, is it? :-( -- Regards, Richard | The Bat! 3.81.13 Beta. Hi Marten, In your message mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED] sent on Friday, August 4, 2006, 4:27:33 PM, you wrote: MG Am I the only one with a roblem getting View Modes to MG stick? No trouble here, so far. What issues are you seeing and how are you setting/changing your view modes? I have 'save' as view mode setting in Preferences. I go to View Global View Mode Manage View Modes I select the general view mode for most of my accounts (saved as Default) and select all accounts in USe By. I then select the threaded view mode and tick USe By for The Bat and CSS Discuss. I the select my ordered by sujbject for Junk and Trash But when I go back in many of the 'General accoun t folders are in threaded mode and sometimes it seems TB and CSS are in Default mode. I have tried to see if there is a pattern byut I cannot see what it is. In the Preferences, what do you have selected for the view modes option - mine is set to ask before applying/saving changes. -- Marten Gallagher Annery Kiln Web Design www.annerykiln.co.uk Using The Bat! 3.80.06 with K9 on Windows XP 5.1 Current version is 3.80.06 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

quick search erasing characters
My quick search is erasing characters. In Pro, 3.80.06 I select a message in the list. I then start typing in my search criteria, like windows. I see the word appearing in the quick search above the message list, but then once I've stopped typing it erasing everything but the first two letters, like wi.
