Hello monsell, On Wed, 28 Mar 2007 you wrote in msl> The spam-filter that i use is 'ANTI-SPAM SNIPPER' which works msl> absolutely fine. Erm, are you sure the name isn't AntispamSniper?? I've just done a google on "Snipper" and can't find it. msl> I have set up so many filters by using either the full email id or its msl> domain only. I don't have any filters at all. I have a friends list and a black words list and, in 6,000 messages, I've only had 3 false positives. It works a treat. msl> the conditions given are the email id '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' or the msl> domain only '@sltnet.lk' Just put the two in your friends list, that should do the trick. Otherwise go to the user forum and ask the author, he always responds very quickly. If you are not using this programme then I'm sorry to have wasted your time:-) -- Regards, Richard | The Bat! 3.98.6 with POP3 account & AntispamSniper 2.0.0.4 | Windows XP (build 2600) version 5.1 Service Pack 2 | F-Prot AV, Outpost Firewall Pro, Spysweeper, Adaware, SpyBot | CPU: Athlon 1.09 Ghz | RAM: 1024 MB Holiday in France: http://perso.wanadoo.fr/lazyhomes/holiday.html Current version is 3.98.04 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
anti-spam snipper
Hi Batters!, The spam-filter that i use is 'ANTI-SPAM SNIPPER' which works absolutely fine. I have set up so many filters by using either the full email id or its domain only. I assume that messages coming from this particular email id or domain is considered ham. for example I set up a filter called VERNON, the conditions given are the email id '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' or the domain only '@sltnet.lk' so, messages that are sent/received from the above id's are considered ham, right? but, why does the spam-filter catches some of the messages, that contains the filter requirements, as spam? what i thought was that if a specific filter condition is met, that the spam-filter ignores messages from this particular email id or domain. hope you can assist me. thank you in advance -- regards vernon Current version is 3.98.04 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Re[2]: filter incoming mails according to what time they were created
Hello Tom, Monday, March 26, 2007, 1:55:38 PM, among other things, I wrote: R> I will set up some similar filters here and see what happens and report R> back. I initially set up three filters in the following order: 1. Time of creation 00.00 to 07.59 2. Time of creation 08.00 to 15.59 3. Time of creation 16.00 to 23.59 and then used them to filter 850 messages that I copied from my 'Trash' folder, with the result that three messages with creation times like 00.00 and 8.00 did not get filtered anywhere! I did not do any further analysis of this test. I then changed the filter times as follows: 1. Time of creation 00.00 to 08.00 2. Time of creation 08.00 to 16.00 3. Time of creation 16.00 to 00.00 and repeated the filtering of the 850 messages with the following results: a) The filters work on creation times converted to my local time zone. b) One message was mis-sorted. It had a creation time of 08.00 but was repeatedly sorted by the No.3 filter. I cannot see anything unusual about the header of this message, but it is always ignored by filters 1 and 2 and found by no.3! c) A message with a creation time of 00.00 was sorted by No.3 filter whereas a message with a creation time of 00.01 was sorted by filter No.1. Thus it seems that these filters do not really overlap. Conclusion: I can confirm that some messages can get mis-sorted, but for reasons still unknown! I hope this will at least reassure you that the problem is not just local to you. :-| -- Best regards, Roger :flag-southafrica: The Bat! v3.98.6 :beta: with AntispamSniper 1.8.0.8 , on Windows XP, version 5 1, build 2600 and Service Pack 2 Current version is 3.98.04 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html Current version is 3.98.04 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

I, too, would very much like to know this very trick :) Nick Danger <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> writes: > > Is there some way to pick an alternate email address (assuming you > have more than one entered for that person) while composing a message > without opening the address book, going to that entry, then copying > and pasting it into the "To:" line? > Current version is 3.98.04 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Choosing alternate address
Is there some way to pick an alternate email address (assuming you have more than one entered for that person) while composing a message without opening the address book, going to that entry, then copying and pasting it into the "To:" line? -- ò.ó Nick Danger [MUA: TB!
