quick templates

2009-05-18 Thread Roland Burger
Hi,

I had to install Windows XP new, installed then TheBat and restored all using a
backup. But it seems that quick templates are not being backed up!

I'm now missing my quick templates! From one I have had a copy in Word, but it
doesn't work. What is wrong in this template and what have I to change?

IF:%ABTOGENDER=2:Dear Mrs. %-
%ABTOLastNAME:%IF:'%ABTOGENDER'='1':'Dear Mr. %ABTOLastNAME':'Dear %-
Ladies and Gentlemen',

I thought that this template worked before!

There's supposed to be a % before IF.

Quick template reply shortcut

2009-05-18 Thread Peter Fjelsten
TheBat-users,

For one account, I have created a special (Outlook-like) quick template used
for replies. It is not my standard reply template (which I have set in account
properties and for some address book groups).

So I invoke it using a keyboard shortcut (I have to due to a bug: if I reply to
a HTML mail with a table in it and invoke the template using handle+space
the HTML table is broken) but this way any people in the CC list is not
included. The shortcut is set in Reply Shortcut on the quick template.

How can I make sure that people on the CC list are included

Periods in TB editor

2009-05-18 Thread Gene Brown
This has annoyed me for some time and I'm only now getting around to
asking about it because it's not really a big deal. When composing
an email message, my preference is to put two spaces after a period
(full stop) in the message, but the TB editor insists on only one
space. Even when I go back and try to insert an additional space, the
editor corrects (?) it to a single space. Is there a way to fix
this?

After I've composed a message, I can click on Auto-Format (which
doesn't usually change anything in the text or format) and then go
back and insert my requisite spaces, but this is kind of a PITA and also
allows me to insert errors while I'm fooling around with my space issue.

I know that the current convention is to use only a single space,
but I learned my typing composition in ancient times when manual
typewriters roamed the earth and this is how I learned to do it. And
it's not just habit--I like the aesthetics of it. A single space
after a comma is fine, but the flow of reading and appearance would
really appreciate a double space after a period.

  cl
Any thoughts?

(By the way, this message has been edited to include a double space
after the periods. Has anyone even noticed?)

I had the latter option available (not the first). As a matter of
grammatical structure, I was raised ('way back before Woodrow Wilson
was President, per MAU) and taught that there should be two spaces
between sentences when typing (on an old manual typewriter). I have
since read that the new standard (from Microsoft, anyway) is that a
single space between sentences is preferable.
