Re: Move to a new computer
J I need to move TB from my old computer with XP to my new one with J Windows 7. TF Those were versions in the past when we recommended to copy TF directories and registry. V4 does not have the restore problem any TF more, and I would recommend to use the internal back-up function, TF install the program on the new computer, and restore from the back-up TF file. Thanks, I appreciate the help. But I've been thinking about it and I think I'm going to try Thunderbird. I have never been happy with the official support of TB and this looks like a good opportunity to make the change. -- Jack Current version is 4.2.42 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Hello MFPA, On Sun, 12 Jun 2011 15:01:03 +0100 (your time) you said: Although TB!'s OpenPGP integration has fallen behind, so that Thunderbird (with Enigmail) is now superior in that respect. Yeah, I think there will always be pros and cons, and it will always boil down to what each person likes and what they are (or can get) used to. I think Thunderbird is a fine bit of kit btw..if you are looking for or switching to a free client and you can live without TB!'s features :) I'm still using GnuPG 1.4.1, after switching from PGP a good few years ago. I haven't yet tried GnuPG 2. Probably because I've been reading about others having issues with v2 and TB!. But then I'm in no hurry to change anything so... Over the last couple of years I have seen less GnuPGP/PGP signed mail in my mailbox. People I know rarely bother nowadays. I still use it however. Ironic really, considering it is probably more relevant now than it ever has been. -- Si # 9747. Weigh Worse Nod? ¶ Auxiliary Information: • The Bat! There is absolutely no concern for privacy any more. People put their private lives on Facebook for all to see. A friend of mine conducted a job interview and of course researched on the internet about this lady first. She was apparently well qualified for the job, but when he saw that she publicly wrote in her Facebook entry that sex in the car is the best he decided to ask her in the job interview why she thought this was appropriate to publish for a manager-to-be. She blushed and had obviously not expected that anybody apart from her 500 best friends (most of who she had probably never met in person) would read this. She didn't get the job. The face recognition that Facebook has installed by default - which can or probably has been installed in taffic cameras - is that part of 1984 that I hadn't believed would be possible during my lifetime. If over 600 million people in the world think that privacy is old hat, why are you surprised that there are fewer users of GPG/PGP? -- Cheers, Thomas. http://thomas.fernandez.hat-gar-keine-homepage.de/ Message reply created with The Bat! 4.2.44 under Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 3 Current version is 4.2.42 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
