In any event, your reply spurred me on tackle the problem yet again (having abandoned it days ago for less strident pursuits) where I looked again at my TB! folder in Program Files. It was only then, after not having looked at it for a while that I noticed that the C:\Program Files\The Bat!\Images\Rogues folder *contained* a folder called Rogues, not the individual pictures. In other words the pictures were actually located at C:\Program Files\The Bat!\Images\Rogues\Rogues where TB! couldn't find them. Temporarily moving the C:\Program Files\The Bat!\Images\Rogues\Rogues folder to my desktop, opening it and copying all the pictures to the clipboard and then pasting them into the C:\Program Files\The Bat!\Images\Rogues\ folder solved the problem.
