BTW: SMTP works again with 1&1 and GMX; dunno what UI did, maybe we get some information from 1&1 or GMX. -- Harald Current version is 7.1 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Sadly, despite having upgraded to ver 7, I am STILL unable to send e-mail from my 1and1.com accounts. I will either have to abandon The Bat or find another e-mail host. The present situation is not tenable. One solution means a lot of downtime in altering settings and transferring files., or altering settings and losing web-based files. Neither one of the solutions is optimal. Preferably, the Bat developers and the administrators at 1and1.com would sit down together to figure out how to solve this problem. I have also opened up a ticket with The Bat support team on this issue. -- Avi Avram Sacks, using The Bat! Pro ver. 7.1.18 on Win 7 Pro Current version is 7.1 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html --- I am not sure if my last message got through but have been playing around with things I found that ver 7 was the same. So I then uninstalled TB and ran a registry cleaner (Reg Seeker) to clear out all instances of The Bat. On install it found the accounts but was faulting. I then changed the settings to:- SMTP - Regular and port 587. Authentication - selected the first two items POP - Regular and port 110. Authentication - Regular I don't know if cleaning the registry was necessary but I now have it working again. Missing account names and property account information
One problem is no sooner solved when another presents itself. My wife also uses The Bat on her laptop. She experienced the same problem that I had been having, with not being able to send mail from the 1and1.com accounts. Her e-mail setup is nearly identical to mine: we both have the same 24 accounts and accessibility to each of them.Because she was having the same problem, I thought that upgrading her from ver 5.8.8 to 7.1 would help solve for her the problem I had had in not being able to send e-mail from the 1and1.com accounts. Unfortunately, after the upgraded file loaded, ALL of the account title lines were missing the names of the accounts (but the folders and e-mail within each folder were intact as were the total message and unread message count for each account). Clicking on the empty title lines revealed the properties pages, which shows that all of the SMTP and mail servers were blank and the ports were listed as "0"!! Help! I do I restore this information? I have located the message database folders, but I don't k now what I need to do to restore the account information. -- Avi Avram Sacks, using The Bat! Hello Harald, Tuesday, June 7, 2016, 1:04:57 AM, you wrote: HF> BTW IIRC someone mentioned that he needed to re-enter the account password. That did the trick!!! I can now use my 1and1.com accounts in The Bat! I don't know why re-entering the password should make a difference, but it did!! Thanks for all of your help!!! I appreciate it very much. But, I now have an even bigger problem with my wife's computer.that I will present in a separate thread. -- Avi Avram Sacks, using The Bat!
