TB 5.0 could be a Guinness world record holder
Since upgrading to TB Professional 5.0 in early December, I must say it has been a disaster. 7 months later we still donot have a stable version of version 5. I even looked up the Guinness World Records to see who holds title to the longest software beta testing of a product, and they do not have a category. Ritlabs could surely claim the prize. Of course the official version is released as per the web site but we still struggle with the most unbelievable issues. Losing folders, views, email, you name it. It is so buggy after so long. I understand the risks involved in beta programs, but this is beyond a joke. Ritlabs couldn't wait to get their hands on some money, so they started selling 5.0 claiming it was officailly released. I wonder if anyoine else agrees with me on this? -- Best regards, CDIsxm The Bat! Hello MFPA, snip... How does the link appear you view the message source in TB!? (Assuming the message encoding isn't something unreadable like base64.) you solved it. Thank you. It remains intact when I view it in F9. Re: is v.4.2.42 truncated urls in the body?
Hello Thomas and everyone else who tried to assist. The link is invalid because it has now expired. The platform developer blames TB and TB has not been able to solve it or acknowledge there is even a problem. So on it goes ad infinitum. The fact that the problem is not present when I read the link as a plain text webmail, proves that the link is not tampered with until it is received by TB. The AV does alter it. Using the unique matematical entity of part; does not help things either. I set the character set translatioon to UTF-8 only and in plain text view mode. What else can I do except start getting email for this operation only on webmail and then manually downloading it after the link is used? Re: is v.4.2.42 truncated urls in the body?
Hello Bill, I have utf-8 and us-ascii checked. Just changed it to utf-8 only, but I tried that already with the same result. I have now contacted the platform provider, but I don't expect they will shift formats to suit me and TB. Not even sure this problem is confined to TB. It certainly does not get changed when I receive the mail from Horde webmail. on Friday, April 1, 2011, 12:39:41 PM, Bill McQuillan wrote: I'm not going to even try to echo the urls since I don't want to further corrupt the evidence. What I noticed in David Elliot's response (that I received) was that the portions of the url in CDIsxm's message which were ...part... were changed into the math character for a partial differential. Oddly, the reply by Sam Brown to the same message did NOT replace the ...part... with anything. Sam and David are both apparently using TB 4.2.42. CDIsxm's and Sam's messages were encoded in us-ascii while David's was encoded in UTF-8. Also, I noticed that anytime I tried to copy and paste the partial differential character it changed into a ?. Trashing/truncating url in v.4.2.42
A link in the body of an incoming message is being truncated and/or trashed by TB. I have the default character sets checked.
