Re: Caught between a rock and 2.0
Gordon, GW My first sight of v.2 confirmed that I want to pay, but neither the GW Register link nor the WWW home page link under the Help menu do any GW good -- just a 404 not found error. Trying the web address in the help GW file http://www.ritlabs.com/the_bat/ produced a Forbidden error! Try www.ritlabs.com it has been completely revamped. -- Cheers Christian The Bat! v2.00 on Windows XP 5 .1 2600 Service Pack 1 This mail is 100% sense free! Re: Version 2 Download Mirrors
Hi, AJ I've registered and upgrade to v2 (although it looks like I've been AJ sent an Educational license) but can't download it. Funny, me too. Maybe there is something wrong with their automatic key generation. AJ The following link from the Ritlabs website isn't working: AJ http://download2.ritlabs.com/download/the_bat/the_bat.exe AJ I've also tried downloading it from www.thebat.co.uk and AJ ftp.ritlabs.com with no joy. Anybody know of any alternatives? I may be able to send it to you if you like :-) -- Cheers Christian The Bat! v2.00 on Windows XP 5 .1 2600 Service Pack 1 Reading taglines makes you stupid. Message Count
Hi there, is there a way to count all messages in the message bases and not just one folder? I have tons of common folders and would like to know the total number of messages. Re: missing common folders
Ian, IT I am using The Bat! v1.61. A funny thing happened the other day; all IT of my common folders disappeared. The data is all still there, but IT the folders have completely disappeared within The Bat!. snip IT Does anyone have any idea? Can I just recreate the folder and expect IT everything to reappear if I specify the same directory for it, or will IT all my messages go poof? snip Try Ctrl-Alt-Shift-L while in the Folderpane. That should do the trick. Re[3]: Moving Messages from full window view
snip RO Try to edit a shortcut: View - Edit shortcuts snip DW Anyway, if it's a shortcut someone wants, it's an easy thing to make - DW Christian, have you worked it out? Edit shortcuts did the trick. I had a rather fresh install on my system so I am pretty sure that the default setting is no shortcut key for this function. -- Christian The Bat! v1.62r on Windows XP 5.1 2600 Service Pack 1 Current version is 1.62r | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Moving Messages from full window view
Hi there, I often read new e-mails in full screen view and would like to move them to the appropriate folder. The only way to do this I found is using Message|move to folder. Is there an easier way to do this, like adding a button to the toolbar or assigning a shortcut to the function? -- TIA Chris The Bat! v1.62r on Windows XP 5.1 2600 Service Pack 1 Current version is 1.62r | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Invisible E-Mail
Hi there! I am still fighting the problem of invisible e-mails. Some E-Mails I receive are automatically shown as an empty message in the HTML viewer. Switching to plain text I see a few words of the message, roundabout 50 characters, then it stops. Any idea what's causing this or how this might be resolved? -- TIA Chris The Bat! v1.62r on Windows XP 5.1 2600 Service Pack 1 Current version is 1.62r | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Re[2]: Invisible E-Mail
I am still fighting the problem of invisible e-mails. snip T You wouldn't happen to be using Popfile, would you? I had a similar T problem and it ended up being a problem with Popfile. I submitted a T bug report and was told by the Popfile developers that it would be T fixed for the next release. No, I am not using popfile. I do use K9, but this problem exists even with a direct connection to the pop server, which is MS Exchange 5.5 or 2000 not 100% sure. -- Chris The Bat! v1.62r on Windows XP 5.1 2600 Service Pack 1 Current version is 1.62r | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Creating a filter for a group in the address book
Hi there, is there a way to create a filter for a group I created in my address book? I want to sort all e-mails from that group into a specific folder. I only identified the way of adding every e-mail address in that group manually to a filter. -- TIA Chris The Bat! v1.62r on Windows XP 5.1 2600 Service Pack 1 Current version is 1.62r | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Unreadable utf-8 e-mails
Hi there, I often receive e-mails that are displayed as an empty HTML page in TheBat. Checking with F9 I found that all these have the following settings: Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64 Unfortunately all I see when I switch the view window from HTML to plain text are a few words of the e-mail. In the XLAT Tables utf-8 is not present and I did not find a suitable translation table on the web. According to TheBat history uft-8 support this should have been fixed in version 1.42 If I save the message.htm file and view it with a browser it is also nearly empty, but if I forward the message to another e-mail client and view the e-mail attachment there I can read the text. Any help appreciated. -- TIA Chris The Bat! v1.62r on Windows XP 5.1 build 2600 Service Pack 1 Current version is 1.62r | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
