You should perhaps be asking a Mailwasher (whatever that is?) group?

Max confirmed me, there is a possibility to hide successfully decoded
 winmail.dat, I have created

Looking further into this, I believe that some (if not all) the
problem came from the other end.

1. Sender using Outlook.

2. Sender using M$ Office 2007(are the first two items related?)

3. When I opened that attachment (which was supposed to contain
.doc files and an .xls file) in Winmail Opener, all that was there
was the original email text which I could read in Bat! without opening
anything..

So I am not sure, and the sender has no idea, what he is doing wrong.
But it would appear that his attachments are not being attached, and
this is what had me confused.

Thanks everybody for the help.

Try Linux KDE PIM. Everything and more that you possibly need as

I think that the Gnome interface may also have a similar feature from
Novell as well, but I like the KDE interface better, YMMV.

Also Open Office seamless, and free!

If serious about this, I suggest Suse 10.3. Very stable and user

How do I stop folders in a mail account picking up the macros of that

Despite this the replies appear to be coming to my sending account
(home) and not work.

What's the trick here?

Macro?

If so can someone point me to a good primer on these? Just coming

And where is it preferable to New Message and Reply macros be - in

I am using 3.99.3, and not a plug in, but K9.

Need help with filter

2007-08-04 Thread John Phillips
Hello Batophiles.

XP Pro SP2, Bat 3.99.3

I have a filter - first in the list - to pick up messages marked as
Spam by K9.

I have set up K9 to add to the beginning of the Subject the word
{Spam} (without the ).

The filter reads:-

Subject contains {Spam}

Move to \\myisp\Inbox\Spam
Mark as read

The folder myisp\Inbox\Spam exists. Maximum number of stored messages
is not ticked, and keep messages for 10 days is ticked.

The filter runs automatically when the mail arrives, marks the message
as read, but does not move from the Inbox to the Spam folder..

At wits end, all help gratefully received!

Filtering issues.

2006-05-01 Thread John Phillips
Hi Bat! Fans,

Maybe I am missing something here, but I am having problems with filtering,
or at least the way Bat! handles the filters.

1. How do I determine which filter/s point to a folder? (Agent has a good
system in which it automatically names the filters after the folder to which
they refer).

2. Why, for goodness sake, can't one filter apply to both mail in and mail
out? (K-Mail in Linux does this nicely).

3. When writing a filter on sent mail and a mail is highlighted in the Sent
Mail folder, the drop down Use for box should automatically show Outgoing
Mail.

4. There seems to be no log record of what filters are applied and which
fail.

5. When I filter my in box, the result ~always~ shows 4 messages filtered
(out of about 200 in the folder), but nothing is moved. Which messages are
filtered and fail, and how can I debug this?

I suppose others could add to this list?

My whine for the day!

I assume that you want to move a given message to a specific folder.
To do so, on the Actions tab, add the Move the message to a folder
action. Then, give the filter a descriptive name of your choice.

I had an old reply to address set up in macros, which was a gmail account,

I use 2 isp accounts (and previously gmail, now removed from Bat!) and
common folders.

I have changed all macros, but the gmail reply to addy insists on popping up
in mail forwarded or pictures sent via Picassa.

I have gone through every macro, including address book, accounts, folders,
but cannot see where this gmail addy still exists.

Is this an in memory issue with Bat!, or any clues to help me get rid of

One issue worth looking at here is to search for temporary files.

In some circumstances Bat! leaves them behind, which slow Bat! down
considerably. If Bat! crashes for some reason or other, heaps accumulate.

Close Bat!, search for files bat*.tmp, and delete all.

Usually in c\documents and settings\your name\temp\

I use EmpTemp, kindly recommended here some time ago, to keep my drives
clean.
