Open the Account.log by clicking on the Status bar at the bottom.
This will include FETCH lines for each message downloaded and FILTR

Hello MAU,

> Maybe it is not the only way to achieve what you want, but this

I think I "spoke" too fast and it won't work. I think the move to
action will not work correctly for those who are on both groups,
because the first filter will move them to folder A and the second one
to B. But I am afraid it will not remain in A.

Maybe you will need to create 3 AB groups. A for those who are only in
A, B for those in B and AB for those who are on both.

Then a third filter with condition "Address groups AB contain sender"
And two actions:
Move to folder A
Copy to folder B

Filter 1 in previous message will not need to include "Continue
processing..

I will try to test this tomorrow if I have some time.

2020-01-16 Thread MAU
Hello Susanne,

> How can I filter the messages into two folders, without getting mix-ups?
>
> Is it even possible?

Yes, it is. The best I can think of is using Address Book Groups.

Create two groups A and B. Include in A those in group A and in B
those in group B. And include in A and B those that are on both.

Then use two filters.

1. With Condition: "Address groups A contain sender"
And action: Move to folder A.
In the Options for this filter, select "Continue processing with
other filters", so the next filter will also be executed.

2. With Condition: "Address groups B contain sender"
And action: Move to folder B.
   DO NOT select "Continue processing..."

Maybe it is not the only way to achieve what you want, but this
should work.

Right, but Ctrl+Z is actually and generally an "Undo" last action.
What if you delete several messages and after a few minutes, or hours

should Ctrl+Z do then? But, even after a restart, you can browse your

Re: CTRL+Z

2019-09-11 Thread MAU
Hello Thomas,

> They are also copied to trash, so you can find them there.

Well, yes and no. Or not always. I just remembered that you can have
different deletion options in each Folder Properties if for Deletion
you select "Use folder-specific deletion settings" . In my case, in
the folder I checked, for Normal deletion I have "Mark as deleted, do
not use the Trash folder". TB has s many options! ;-)

Anyway, I have checked a folder that does not have "Use
folder-specific deletion settings" ticked. If I delete a message, it
is certainly copied to the Trash folder. But wait, if I "Browse
deleted messages" I can see the message with the strike-though line,
and if I do 'Undelete' it, the line is removed, the message is no
longer 'marked for deletion', it is shown normally in the folder, BUT
it is NOT removed from the Trash folder.

And it works as such when you are in the Editor window.

When you delete a message, at least with POP accounts (don't know
about IMAP) it is actually just "marked for deletion" and it is not
moved to Trash. When you delete messages in a folder, you can actually
see them if you select "Folder/Browse deleted messages" from the
main menu. Then, deleted messages (marked for deletion) are displayed
with a "strike through" line. You can then select any of them and
click 'Undelete' from the right click context menu.

I am quite sure it will. v5.8.8 is a (legacy) release (.msi file)
while 5.8.10 is not (does not appear in the list at Ritlabs.com). So, I
assume it was a "beta release" (.exe file, actually a .rar one) and it
can be used to overwrite 5.8.8.

I assume it will not work with IMAP accounts, which you seem to be
using. But with POP, all you have to do is on 'Folder' top menu,
select "Browse Deleted Messages". All "deleted" (marked for deletion)
messages will appear striked-through, which you can select and
'Undelete' from context menu. But, as I say, I don't think this will
work for IMAP, sorry.

Just tried it. When a folder has some sub-folders, the counts Unread

corresponding counts of the sub-folders, except VFs if they don't have
the option "Count in upper level" selected.

I also received that one, but it is different. It pertains to Google+
which, as you quote, will be shutting down. The "March 31st" date
mentioned in this message, is when they suggest you start downloading
your content, if you don't want to loose it.

I'd bet they *did* contain the string, most probably in the headers.
Most of which are not shown/displayed unless you select View/RFC-822
headers. This is so because "ANY PART" means exactly that, any part of
the message (the whole message) even if some part(s) are not normally
displayed.

As I said above, they suggest you start saving/downloading G+ content
*before* March 31st.

Explained above. Most probably they were not invalid hits.

If your Main menu has disappeared, how the heck did click on Workspace
and Message auto-view?

Anyway, I assume you have never done any customisation of your menus
or toolbars, have you?. If so, I would suggest that you right click on
any toolbar and select Customise. Once the Customise window opens,
click on the "Restore to default" button on bottom left corner.

The %To="" clears the To field of anything that may already be there

Deleting multiple folders

2018-04-25 Thread MAU
Hello all,

I have several hundred folders that were created by a filter in the
past few years. I have now decided to remove that filter and would
like to delete all those folders.

Is there any way to delete multiple folders, that I am not aware of?
Deleting one by one is going to be a pain.

And deleting the folders outside of TB (i.e. with Explorer) is of no
use because next time TB is started it recreates all folders. The
messages are gone, but the folders are recreated.

Am I getting too old and have missed something?

TIA.

Aside of what MFPA and Thomas have suggested, there is one thing that
maybe useful to you to be aware of about folders: default templates.

When you create a new folder, its templates default to whatever are
the Account Templates. What I did many years ago is add this line at
the end of all account templates:

%COMMENT="This is default"%COMMENT=""

This way, if and when I modify a folder template, I will delete this
line. So, next time I happen to look at this folder template I will
know it was modified.

OK, I did receive your PM with your filters. OMG! How many do you
have? With so many, I think you may be prone to 'loosing control'.

I have just taken a quick look at them (will do so in more detail over
the weekend) and so far I have seen two things:

- You have other (several) filters that do forward messages to your
gmail account.

- I have seen that most (if not all) have the Option "Continue
processing with other filters" set/ticked. Why this? Any reason why
you want a message be 'tested' by all your filters? If a message
matches the condition of the first (or Nth) filter, I see no sense in
checking possible matches with the rest of them.

Unless you have a good reason to have this option set, untick it in
all filters and try and see if there is a difference.

> of you would be kind enough to look at what I have done here please??

OK, what I would do in your case:

Filter: My New Mail Folder
Condition: If Sender... or Recipient ...
 Action: None (Yes NONE)

 Sub-filter: Forward Mail
  Condition: Any Message
  Action: Move to the folder
  Forward message

Both actions are included in the sub-filter because the sub-filter
will ONLY be tested and executed IF the condition in the filter is
true.

Try it. You don't have to replace your current filters. Just
deactivate them and create the suggested ones.

And I have verified it once again with my own message to this list. It

Over 100, 000 batXXXX.tmp files in TEMP causing "message not properly addressed" error

2017-09-08 Thread MAU
Hello all,

Sorry for x-posting to TBUDL and TBBeta (although not a beta issue),
but I think it may be of interest to all, or in case anyone has
experienced some similar.

A couple of days ago I started to get this "message not properly
addressed" error when trying to send a msg. I would get it when trying
to send to any address and from any account (all POP). I could
receive, although downloading was noticeably slow.

When clicking send from Editor window, it took a few 'moments' to
close. Then the Connection Centre would pop-up saying "Composing.."
(for 1, maybe 2, seconds) and then I would get the error. As I said
above, trying to send to any address and from any of my accounts. I
re-started TB several times, re-booted my system, but I would still
get the error. I 'Repaired' TB installation and nothing. Uninstalled
completely, 'cleaned' the Registry, did a fresh install and... problem
still there.

Since I could not send mail, the only way to ask for help was opening
a Support ticket [TID#75335] but, so far, I have not heard back from
them.

Slow reception and the error (after re-installing, etc.) when sending
made me think that maybe there was something "external" affecting TB.
I don't know why but I decided to look in TEMP directory
(C:\Users\Miguel\AppData\Local\Temp) where I found well over 100,000
(yes, well over one hundred thousand) 'bat.tmp' 0 byte files. All
from the same day and with time stamps within 5 minutes (16:46 to
16:52).

I decided to delete them all, and 'voila', I could again send email
with no problem and downloading was again as fast as usual.

The questions now are:

1.- What in the world made The Bat! create such an amount of 0 byte
.tmp files in 5 minutes?

2.- Why this amount of files made TB generate the error of message
"not being properly addressed"?

I have opened BT report: https://bt.ritlabs.com/view.php?id=1290

Ok, I think it may be much simpler that I thought.

Try: Any part - contains - " onco" (without the quotes but with the
leading space). I think this would only fail if 'onco...' was the
first word of a line.

Setting a filter to 'manual', whether a common or account one, means
that it will ONLY be used when manually re-filtering, and not when new
mail arrives.

When manually re-filtering, all the filters (common and account ones)
of the selected type (Incoming, etc.) will be used, UNLESS 'Manual
filters only' is ticked. In this case, only filters set as 'manual'
will be used.

I didn't have any common filters, but for testing purposes I created
one and it just works. No need to set the filter to manual for
re-filtering.

To easily see if any message gets routed to that trash folder, the

you should check the Properties/Deletion of some of your folders.

Have you ever created and used any Common Folders? If so, when you
deleted any message from a Common Folder, or the folder itself
(containing some message(s)), the Common Trash folder was created and
placed at the bottom of the folder tree. This Common Trash folder will
stay even if you delete all common folders.

Check your ' account' Properties/Mail management/Deletion and
see if you find some clue there. If not, check the Properties/Deletion
of the folder where your message was when you trashed it.

That's really strange. Did you highlight/select including the first

In my message, select all the lines starting with (and including it)
' TB! Message Filter ' to 'endFilter' (including it also).
Then right-click and select Copy (or Ctrl-C). Then open the Sorting
Office, select the filter group/type where you want the filter and
Paste.

Once pasted, select it and in 'Actions' on the right panel, click on
the Edit button at the bottom and the Extract Attachments window will
open. There you will see where you can set the directory where you
want attachments to go, and also the mask for file type you want to
extract.

I still have to find a way of defining more than just one mask. I've
tried several ways but none of them did work.

If you mean using macros to define the folder where attachments should
be extracted, I have just tested and they work.

I the test filter I posted yesterday I defined the folder to extract
the attachments as:

C:\Datos G\Atachments

Today, for testing, I set it to:

C:\Datos G\Atachments\%Fromfname

And it did work. When running the filter, several folders where
created with the first name of From, and the appropriate attachments
where extracted in each folder. So, it looks like it works

> the thought causes headache.
>
> Thanks for your ideas.

OK, I'm going to suggest a couple of things. None is perfect.

1.- You can keep attachments in message bodies or in a separate
directory. See Help/Account/Properties/Files and directories/Attachments

I assume your current setting is "In message Bodies", and that if you
now change to "In a separate directory" this change will apply to
future messages only, and not to those already in message base.

2.- You can use a manual filter to extract attachments, I have tested
it and it works. Copy the following filter and paste it in the Sorting
of your Account. I created it as a 'Read Filter'.

 TB! Message Filter
beginFilter
UID: [55C43EB2.01D27F0F.3F6DB36E.6121BD2A]
Name: ExtAtt
Filter: {\0D\0A\20`21\0D\0A}
ExtractFiles IncrementName AutoPath dir C:\5CDatos\20G\5CAttachments
dirRelative %EXEDRIVE%\5CDatos\20G\5CAttachments mask *.jpg
IsManual
IsActive
Ignore
endFilter

Once pasted, you may change the target directory to your desired one
and/or the attachments 'mask'. I created this one to extract JPG
attachments. Is no mask is indicated, all attachments will be
extracted, including .html ones.

Then select a folder in your folder tree and 'Re-filter' it with Read
Filter, but selecting 'Manual filter only'. You will have to re-filter
each folder, one by one. But it is better than selecting message by
message and copying the attachment(s).

Don't worry if it doesn't work at first, the attachments are NOT
deleted from the message bodies, just extracted. This may be an
inconvenience if you also want/wanted to delete them from the message
base.

Re: copying filter rules from computer A to computer B

2017-01-10 Thread MAU
Hello Avram,

> Is there a way I can replace the filters rules for that account on
> computer B with the rules that are on computer A?

On computer A:
- Locate your MAIL directory, if you don't already know where it is:
  - On TB's menu, select Options/Preferences/System and your MAIL
  directory will show there.
- On the MAIL directory, locate the folder/directory with the name
  of your account.
- In this folder, locate a file named ACCOUNT.SRB This is the file
that contains all filters for that account.

This ACCOUNT.SRB file is the one that you have to copy OVER the
corresponding one in computer B.

I see you are using TB v6.0.12 and, as far as I can recall, 64 bit
versions of TB started with v6.3. Actually, oldest official .msi files
available for download for both 32 and 64 versions are for 6.8.8, as
you can see here:

Just in case, take a look at this page (Allowing less secure apps to

I had to use it recently for one of my less used accounts.

When the pick-list is displayed, use the Down and Up arrow keys to
scroll to the unwanted address and, once there, just hit the Delete
key.

No, I think there is no way. The columns in the message list and their
order are selected when defining a View Mode, and the the list of
possible columns to select seem to be fixed.

Yes, it is changeable. These are the steps to do it:

1.- Open a text editor window (i.e. new message)
2.- Right click on the toolbar and select 'Customise'
3.- On the Customise window, on the the left of the Menu & Toolbar tab
(Containers) select Main menu.
4.- On the top left, select the Shortcuts tab. Main menu will now show
expanded.
5.- Expand 'Utilities' by clicking on the + on the left.
6.- Double click on 'Insert Quick Template' end the Shortcut Edit
window will open.
7.- Select Ctrl+Space a click on Remove button.
8.- On the right, where 'none' is shown, type your new desired
shortcut and hit the Add button. Confirm your new setting and then
click on the OK (or Cancel) button of Customiser

HTH.
