Re: Undeliberately deleted messages?
Hi all, ok, the "solution" (workaround) is to disable the inbox folder settings concerning maximum number of messages and time period for saving messages, as well as deleting old messages at program exit. I don't know what's going wrong that messages get deleted when I set the values to 500 / 550, the deleted emails are the new ones, not the old ones. The messages which are marked as parked haven't been deleted before in the error mode. Weird. -- Kind regards Harald mailto:rezk...@gmx.de am Mittwoch, 20. Undeliberately deleted messages?
Hi, today for the 2nd time (1st time was some months ago) several of my emails disappeared from my web.de inbox folder. Exactly the emails from within the last 7 days and the latest one which is displayed now has parking symbol.. It happened after regular closing TheBat, installing some Windows 10 updates and two Windows restarts. The Emails aren't in the trash or junk folder, they are simply gone. Any idea what could cause this behaviour? Maintenance rules for the inbox folder are: - maximum number of emails = 500 - maximum time period for deleting 550 days - on quit delete old emails TheBat professional v. 10.0.10 - web.de with pop3/smtp usage Any idea what could have happened and if I could find the emails somewhere? -- Kind regards Harald mailto:rezk...@gmx.de Current version is 9.1.18 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

This has happened to me when I made the switch, however it has now corrected itself. Printing problem
Hi all, is this a known issue that TheBat (4.2.10.1 pro) has problems with printing? I haven't found out when this happens, but it occurs occasionally that when I setup the printer settings, followed by print, nothing happens. I am almost sure that this also happens without using the printer setup before printing. When I restart TheBat and try to print, everything is fine. Any explanation? Can I find a protocol, logfile or errorfile somewhere? -- Kind regards, Harald Current version is 4.2.10.0 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Test update TheBat v.3 - v.4
Hi Group, is it possible to install TheBat v.4 over TheBat v.3 and deinstall within/after the testing period? Just in case that v.4 will not convince me to upgrade. Or should I install v.4 in a different directory? If so, how can I use my accounts then in v.4? -- Thanks and regards, Harald [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Current version is 4.0.24.0 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Filter questions
Hi group, I want to create a filter rule which does the following: Every not-gpg-signed email will get an automatic generated answer. Exceptions: - some guys from my contacts can be left out because they use bloody webmailer anyway which makes it harder for them to install and use GPG (they are not very familiar with computers). I think those guys have to be added manually which is what I have already done. Maybe a group could be a better solution? - Newsletter etc. - I try to capture them by looking at the topic newsticker and newsletter. But I am not sure whether I get all of them. - Amazon, ebay etc - IIRC they do not send information emails with newsletter topic. How can I get them? - Some other mass mails with more than say 5 recipants. Any chance to capture them? Maybe there are some more exceptions, but I hope to identify them soon. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. -- Best wishes, Harald Current version is 3.99.27.2 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Re: Exception in newest version
Hello Thomas , Hello REZK945, Your name is difficult to pronounce! At least for me; sorry about my cultural ignorance. Yes. If you still have the download of the Christmas Edition on your computer, you can just install it over the current version while TB! is closed. As usual, a back-up is recommended. The pronounciation is perfect! ;) Well, as I do not see any other solution to get rid off this annoying exception, I think I will have to go for an older version - unless any other of you specialists does have any idea/solution. Regards and thanks, Harald (could be easier to pronounce ^^) Current version is 3.99.24 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Re: Exception in newest version
Hallo Roelof, HF Does noone have any idea? No, but you could try to tell us more about your setup. I don't get any errors when closing TB, so it might be something in your setup. Do you purge and compress on exit? What happens if you Purge and Compress without exiting? What happens on exit if you disable the BayesFilter plug-in too? Are you using OTFE or a plain messagebase? What virusscanner do you use, I'm using AVG and its plug-in is only visible at the protection section, not at the general plug-in section. - Indeed I do purge and compress on exit, selected folders. No problems, no error messages. - I haven't tried disabling the BayesFilter plugin - reason see below. - I do not know what OTFE is. - I do not use a virusscanner... What makes me wonder is that all the points did not matter in the Christmas Edition. This Exception started to occur after I have only updated from the Christmas Edition (professional) to this current version. Everything was fine until I did the upgrade. So I expected that to be a known issue/bug. Do I have the chance of a downgrade of my version? Hi all, the action is easy to explain: Quit TheBat. After the window has closed, the exception arises. Does noone have any idea? Current version is 3.99.24 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Archiving old emails
Hi, I am trying to find a solution to backup/archive old emails. My intention is to put them out of TheBat Voyager to save space on my USB memory stick. Frequently I get emails with large attachments, so I would like to archive (even triggered manually if necessary) old mails, e.g. older than 1 year, on CD or somewhere similar. The usual archiving and backup tasks within TheBat/Voyager probably work, but they need to import the files back to TheBat/Voyager if I need to search within them. My wish is to be able to search the archives without importing so that I do not need to blow up my Voyager/mail directory again. Is there any possibility for such an archiving idea? If not, what else can I do? -- Regards, HF Current version is 3.95.08 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Re: Archiving old emails
Hi Perry, Hi REZK945, Wednesday, January 31, 2007, 6:22:12 PM, you wrote: Rgd Is there any possibility for such an archiving idea? You might want to take a look at this link as a possibility ... http://www.pcwize.com/thebat/tbudp/tiki-index.php?page=Archive+Folders This is indeed a nice trick. But one important point of my requirements is missing: The memory usage is more increased instead of being decreased. I want the archived emails out of the TheBat directory. What I want is to outsource old emails to reduce the (USB) disk usage from about 1GB down to 600MB for example. Or to generally limit the disk usage to 500MB or whatsoever. -- Regards, Harald Current version is 3.95.08 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
