Thanks,
I do use sender or recipient too but sometimes you are just searching for all
correspondence with one
person and then it would be good to use header. I think I did this in the past
without issues and only
in the last 3 months, I got that problem.

Sorry about the incorrect footer. Not sure how I set this up many years ago,
need to read up on this to
see how to correct this.

search for emails

2020-12-27 Thread Tom
Hello Everyone,

not sure but it seems a setting in my bat has changed preventing me from
searching an email by header. I am sure I did this in the past and it worked:
using header: specific email address (either complete or parts of it), maybe
adding some other criteria

Now when doing so I am getting heaps of results which have nothing to do with
the header entered. So instead of using just header, I need to use text
brackets or something
less useful. Anything I forgot or has something changed?

Options/Preferences/Message List/Mail Ticker/Folders and make sure none of the

Formatting

2020-05-01 Thread Tom
Hello Everyone,

is there a setting that I can use so that TB will keep the formatting of the
email compose window?

I am using a specific font size and font for my emails but often copy & paste
details from other systems into the
emails. Some of these are very small fonts, so each time I need to go in and
manually change this to match the rest
of the text. See the following example which looks silly but also affects the
formatting of the following text. So, I
am hoping for a feature like in excel that states that formatting of the
destination sheet is being kept.

Example: CN101402 for the copy and paste, suddenly much smaller text and not
only for the copied part but also for whatever I write subsequently

Hi Thomas,

thank you - that error message did not pop up again.

However, I am a bit confused as to the default font and font
size. Writing this now I am using Verdana 14 and this
is easy on my eyes. This is also how I had it before.
In one other account it's the same but testing it across
different accounts I am also getting Calibri 9 which is way
too small for my eyes. Under Preferences/Viewer Editor/ Profile Layout
I have Verdana 14, so why is this not working across all accounts?

Re: Moving to a new pc

2020-02-22 Thread Tom
Thank you everyone, very helpful.

I am still preparing my new pc and come across another
issue with TB that I need clarification. Some years ago I had
created an "Archive Folder" password protected for some very old
messages that I could not delete but did not need TB access every day.

I just checked and this folder is on a different directory as my other
folders. I am not really sure what will happen now and if that folder
is included in the backup file? Given the size of 8.6gb I doubt that
it would be part of my normal tbk file (9.5 gb).
I could manually put this folder onto the external drive but while my
current drive letter is E and this shows up in the config of TB for
this folder, my new pc does not allow me to create a drive E, so my
backup/data drive will be F.

I could probably live with the archive folder now being dumped but
don't want this to become an issue for my active accounts. Should I
move this archive folder temporarily back to the OS-drive together
with the other active folders under AppData\Roaming\The Bat!?

At the moment I can still access the folder and open it within the Bat
but don't know what would happen if I moved to the new pc and the
TB looks for a drive that does not exist. Would it still appear
in the folder structure within TB, allowing me to open it and point to
the new F-drive at that point?

Dear Richard,

thank you for your assistance. When you refer to the tbk file,
that's the backup files, right? I can see my weekly tbk file
currently is about 9.5gb. Just checked my schedule and for my

that include also my templates?

Do you think one or the other method is safer?

Currently I am using the default setting pointing to my

I can see that both under preferences and registry.
When you mention the complete mail directory, do you
refer to the folder "The Bat!" in appData folder, ie I just copy

Moving to a new pc

2020-02-19 Thread Tom

Hello Everyone,

I would like to refresh my memory and hope for some guidance.

I have been using TB for many years and have quite a number of
accounts and about 100K of emails spread across these.
It's time for me to again move to a new pc and I forgot what the best
procedure for this is.

In the past I had my mail stored on a separate drive from my OS but
during the last move I decided not to do that in the future. I image
my main drive and having my emails on the OS drive in the default
location %APPDATA%\The Bat!\ seems easier.

So how would I best have everything working as quickly as possible on
the new pc as my current set. I do have the installation file and
keys. Do I need to recreate all the accounts?
Strangely enough my Help button in the program does not do anything, not sure
why?
I know there is a backup and restore function and I have done backups
faithfully but can't remember if I ever used the restore function and
if there are any tricks to pay attention to?

I also have heaps of templates that I would like to keep.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Feli,

thanks for the response. I don't even need to keep the emails as I
have them all on a different pc where I will continue to use POP.
On this new set up I am only interested in using IMAP and thought
there is way to change the setting so that in future for these email
accounts IMAP is used instead of Pop. Basically you say I need
to set up the accounts fresh as IMAP accounts - that's fine, just will
take a bit longer.

 Maurice,

yes, I realise what they are and squinting long enough can get the
relevant information out of the gibberish being served but I agree,
ideally TB should make them readable in an easy txt format. I

Outlook Calendar emails

Unfortunately TB makes it more difficult to deal with this than

I tried the first suggestion via address book several times but
really am not clear what I need to import there. Is it the geotrust
root certificate that is missing or do I need to add my new Quick SSL
certificate? I tried both without much happiness. And how would I
add something to the cryptoAPI?

Sorry, I need to revive this thread as I have run into the exact same

Again I am getting the same error messages after having updated the

Great - I have never used common QTF though it seems now that might
have been easier allround. Is it possible to copy the Account.QTB file
of one specific account into the Common location and that way turn the
account specific templates into common templates ? Then I would only
have to manually set up a few other templates scattered around various
accounts to have everything as common templates.

Restore some messages

2017-08-06 Thread Tom

Hello Everyone,

just wonder how to best restore some messages.
I used an image to roll back my pc for 2 days and as expected the
messages for these two days are now gone.
I do have a backup run via TB having everything in there as well as a
copy of the those folders in TB that had new emails. I have quite a
few email accounts but due to the weekend only two accounts had new
mail.
So I wonder if I can "surgically" replace a folder like XYZ Known with
all it's contents and leave the rest of the TB folder tree untouched
or do I need to run a full restore from my TBArchive?

Best Features

2017-08-01 Thread Tom

Hello Everyone,

I love TB and realise that I am so used to it that having to use any
other email program always makes me feel like driving a car without
being able to go past 2nd gear.

However I also realise that I only use a few of the many features, so
probably missing our on a lot due to a lack of knowledge.
Can we have a thread listing the best features based on everyone's
opinion. It would help me find new goodies and hopefully help others
too.
I am still using an old version, so any new features to help me
upgrade would also be interesting.

I start with the features I like and use the most:

1) Quick templates - can't do without them as they save me so much time
2) Address book macros - using multiple emails for different purposes
this feature is helping me stay organised, ensuring that my responses
to contacts are consistent (using the same account, the same
greeting or signature etc)
3) Virtual Folders and Flags - great for task management

sorry, I did not understand the terminology then.
I thought password protection is some form of encryption.

Address Book Query

2017-07-03 Thread Tom

Hello Everyone,

I recently had to reinstall TB and imported a previous backup.
One thing that did not come across was the address book, so I
need to set this up again.
I looked under options/preferences and found Address History but
don't understand how this is working. I asked to collect addresses
from incoming mail but did not want this to apply to all accounts.
Despite unticking some accounts under "track history" the address
book takes in new contacts from the folder I do not want but ignores
the relevant folders.

Also the function to scan folders for more addresses seemed like a
quick way to repopulate the most important addresses but after
scanning the address book remained unchanged. Apparently hundreds of
contacts were found to be tracked but they do not show up in the
address book.

I was hoping for a quicker way to have the main contacts back in the
book without having to do it manually.

Jerney, I tested the drive with crystaldisk and it was indeed
failing. I have now replaced it and transferred the important files
over to the new drive.
Unfortunately as far as TB is concerned, in the past I did not think my
backup
policy through. My setup with the database not on the OS drive but on
the internal data drive meant I did not have any images to fall back
on. I had set up backups twice weekly via scheduler but as they
replace the prior files and tend to get quite big, basically I had
only a week to go back. So the oldest backup was already slightly
affected by the database corruption. I deleted TB from my OS,
reinstalled and then used one of the backups. So for the most part
everything works again but I do have one folder lost.
I wish there was an easy way to archive old emails in a way that they
are stored in a static way outside of the active program or database.

Re: message base index file

2017-06-30 Thread Tom

As a follow up - my TBN file is not being recreated, so it now seems
that while I still have the TBB file with 5gb in that folder, none of
the messages shows up. Not sure what I did but I don't think I
can find the original TBN file. While I do have two backups of the
full TB, these are recent and probably will have the same problem
as my active program and I am somewhat reluctant to initiate a restore
from there as I would lose other emails from unaffected accounts.
I was under the impression that TB would reindex the folder - why is
that not happening?

Jernej, I am not sure - what I can say is that the disk is definitely
not full. Unfortunately I can't follow your suggestion as copying the
TBB file is not possible. It ends the same way as doing maintenance,
ie the copying runs through fine until you reach about 90% and then
the error message comes up (ie the last 465 mb out of 5gb choke the
system). Renaming the TBN file and reopening TB works but inside that
folder no emails are shown with the counter being zero). I see that a
new TBB and TBN file are being created with TBB showing 4kb and TBN 37
kb. I guess I will try to delete these and rename the original file
back which will bring back the emails but does not solve the problem.

Jernej, I only tried this on the problematic folder (POP) but as mentioned
got stuck. I just tried to do "just" compacting and purge and while
this runs through quickly on other folders (even large ones), the
problematic folder again has the same issue. The green bar goes to the
right to about 90% quickly and then moves very slowly only. Eventually
it failed with an alert:

"cannotcompressthefolder xxx. Stream rea error "
E\TheBatmessages.tbb" The request could not be performed because
of an I/O device error".

My active database is on another internal drive to be separate from my
OS drive and reading about the error, there are some references to
hardware or drivers. What I don't understand however is that it only
affects one particular folder.

If I were to move the active database to my OS drive via
options/preferences/system, would thatcreateeverything
automatically? I remember I did that once before but would need to
look up the procedure for it. Also, if the folder is corrupted, would
I have the same issues again?

thank you - I just did this and had to abort after about 4 hours. The
process starts normally but then after going through the first folders
quite quickly, it seems to get stuck somewhere in the main one. While
the green process bar "pretends" to work, nothing more seems to be
happening. The same goes for stopping the process, it does not stop
and eventually I need to kill TB via task manager.
I suppose even for a folder with 4000 emails it should not take that
long?

What other options do I have now? At this point I can still use TB
and have access to my emails but I am getting nervous that the folder
is corrupted and I may lose everything. I do have some backups but
I am not sure how long ago the issue first popped up. The original
error message re backup is at least 3 weeks old but the process still
completed. So while I have a number of backups, I am no longer sure I

Sorry, still not getting it. I tried renaming these files but seems
that TB is not redoing anything afterwards when I access the folder.
Depending on which file I rename, the folder either appears without
content or shows 4000 files in the count but nothing in the view
window. Only by renaming it to the original name the files fortunately
appear back.

I take it there is no special command to do the reindexing?

message base index file

Hello Everyone,

after using TB for 10 years I have come across the following error

"An error occurred while storing data of the folder \\xyz -Known

It is possible that the message base index file is damaged - try to
delete the index file and re-read the folder, then try to backup
again"

1) What exactly does that mean as at the moment I don't notice any
issues? The folder in question has about 4000 messages currently.

2) Looking in the relevant folder on explorer, I have Messages.TBB
(5gb) and Messages.TBN (8mb) as well as a bat88EE.tmp file ( 1.2GB).
Which one is the index file that I am supposed to delete?
3) What does re-read the folder mean?

4) Is my understanding correctly that deleting the index file is not
the same as deleting the messages?

Guys,

I totally agree. I just put in my new harddrive and transferred my
mail directory from OS drive back to the new drive using this
procedure. Very easy and everything is in its place.
Just wondering now the "left-over" files on my OS drive being

-thebat_Exceptions.log

do I need to keep them or are they now redundant? They are small, so
not relevant for storage or taking up space, just prefer a clean look
if they are not relevant anymore.

Backup Query

2015-01-21 Thread Tom

Hello Everyone,

I have been running backups for several years twice weekly saving to
two different drives. Fortunately I never really needed them but I
sure would like to have a backup ready if disaster strikes.

Looking at the backup folders, I am confused as to the output files:

Backup 1 shows two files with different file names and extensions:
a) TBBackup.TBKExt. tbk Modified 21/1/15 Created 23/10/13
 Size: 7.685,533 KB
b) TBBackup.$1 Ext. $1 Modified 14/1/15 Created 14/1/15
Size: 5,832,518 kb

Backup 2 shows
Weekly.TBK Ext tbk Modified 11/1/15 Created 27/10/13
Size: 7,624,364

It seems that I set up one backup via system/preferences and the
second one via the scheduler, though both appear in the scheduler. I
assume that the backups only override the previous one, so only the
latest will be kept. Is that right or are there any settings as to how
many versions are to be kept?

I don't understand what the second backup with $1 means and why it is
smaller. Is that possibly a corrupted or incomplete backup also
explaining that in this folder I have two backups? Maybe TB is smart
enough to only delete the prior backup if the process has successfully
created a new one?

Re: How to import a root certificate

2014-07-23 Thread Tom

How do I import a root certificate.

It's several years since I needed to do this, and my memory of it is
unclear. I think you set up an address book entry, import the
certificate into that AB entry, view the certificate, go to the
certification path tab, select the certificate you want to trust,
 and click add to trusted.

I played about with self-certificates quite a few years ago, and just
for email, not TLS. And I have had to import new root certificates a
few times, when email service providers changed server certificates
and when correspondents had s/mime certificates from a CA that was not
already there or had expired. So no great wealth of experience on my
 part.

Thank you very much - yes, the critical issue was that I had to import
the Geotrust Global CA first. Once I had done that, our self-signed
certificate was fully validated.

I'm slightly confused. This suggests that after creating your
self-signed certificate, you then got it signed by Geotrust Global CA.

Importing (and trusting) the root certificates of all the CAs in the
world would not validate a certificate that was signed only by itself
 and not by a CA.

Sorry, my mistake, badly worded - don't know enough about the
terminology.
We purchased a certificate from Geotrust but while it was valid and
accepted by outlook or other mail program, TB rejected it. I think
the reason was that there was no global certificate from geotrust in
the addressbook. Once I downloaded and imported this, our new
certificate for the mail server was accepted and the TLS handshake
worked without further issues.

How to import a root certificate

2014-07-16 Thread Tom

Hello Everyone,

using TLS for email retrievals from our mail server now, we installed
a new certificate on the server. It's a valid certificate but
self-signed and while outlook and other mail programs are happy, my TB
does not like it.

I am getting an alert that the server did not provide a root
certificate during the session, and there is no root certificate in my
address book. Connection may not be secure. The options to view or
add to trusted are greyed out. I have a choice to continue and if I do
so I am getting my email.
But this is per email account and each time I want to retrieve emails,
so not a working solution.

How do I import a root certificate. I can see the address book section
and the import function there but I am unclear on how to create the
file for import. What format should that be in? I have an email with
the certificate details (a quick SSL Basic SSL Certificate and could
copy/paste that info into a file but I suspect The Bat is looking for
something more than a text file?

I did some searching but found either very old postings without any
outcomes or a simple import advice. Sorry I am not experienced enough
and any assistance will be appreciated a lot.

TLS and POP

2014-06-13 Thread Tom

Hello Everyone,

I used to receive all my emails without encryption via POP but due to
some changes relating to the server, this has now been changed to
TLS.

Unfortunately there seems to be some issue with the certificate on the
server, not properly covering the mail server only the website. We are
going to fix this but in the mean time TB is refusing to download the
relevant emails.
The first time I changed the protocol and tried this, some alert came
up, advising me about this untrusted certificate and asking if I
wanted to accept it or similar. I believe I said yes but I am only
getting TlS handshake failures. I can't force the pop-up again to look
up the override or amend it and cannot find the setting for this.

How can I fix this -any help is greatly appreciated.

My normal weekly backup done via the scheduler is about 10% larger?
Why is that and how do I best import all my details into the new setup

the normal backups are going back to my OS drive ( so the thinking is
that if the mail directory goes corrupt, I have backup - if the

As for the scheduled backup containing the templates etc, it's good to

only tried it once with voyager and that was a complete mess.

Does the filter have continue processing with other filters

message addressed to y, z, a, b and c back out of the folder your
filter described above has moved it to?

Does it make any difference if you change the order of the filter
conditions? (recipient contains y and sender contains xx instead of
sender contains xx and recipient contains y)

thanks everyone for their responses.
Ok, here are some additional details:

the exact filter is:
recipient contains j@company.com
and sender contains sharyn
move to folder ABC

however the sender's email address is sharyn...@isp.com

so I suppose it should make no difference with respect to your first
question.

As mentioned it works fine for a single recipient but nothing happens
when the incoming email is as follows:

from Header:

from: sharyn...@isp.com
to: sharyn...@isp.com, j...@company.com, sa...@company.com
cc: j@company.com, some...@someothercompany.com

Question: is cc not considered to be a recipient? What would be the
filter rule in that case?

The filter is active and any previous filter is set to continue
processing.
Haven't tried the last suggestion yet.

I have however tried some radical changes and even for these some
messages do not move:

if header contains j@company.com
and sender match sharyn...@isp.com
move to folder ABC

with the offending email being:

from sharyn...@isp.com
to j@company.com, j...@company.com, sa...@company.com
cc external addresses.

stumped...

Filter Help needed

2009-03-12 Thread Tom

Hello Everyone,

I am hoping for some clarification re filter rules.

I would like to streamline emails generated on a website to different
accounts ( in my bat and external) depending on who works on them.
I set up some filter but I am afraid I have not fully understood the
way they should work in sequence.
My current set up is:

1) known _ if address book contains sender move to inbox known
2) subject contains skipped move to folder A
3) subject contains mail delivery or header contains mailer daemon
or text contains successful delivery notifications or text contains
fatal error move to Folder Bounce
4) text contains new address or text contains new account info
forward message to other email address A
5) recipient contains xyz forward to email address B

All filters are set to continue processing with other filters.

Should I use forward message to other email or redirect? What is the
difference? Does forward just mean a copy will be sent but the
original email is still going into the folder and then will be
processed by the next filter? My idea is to direct the emails to
whoever is working on them without creating duplicates or cluttering
the original mailbox. So if filter rule 3 is met, the journey ends in
folder Bounce but otherwise rule 4 should apply.

Virtual Folder query

2009-02-19 Thread Tom

Hello Everyone,

I have messed up a virtual folder and would like to start fresh with
respect to these folders.

How can I get rid of the existing virtual folders. If I delete them,
the original email is also deleted. Is there a another way to hide
these folders, create new virtual folders and refilter the base folder?

No, if you delete a Virtual Folder no messages will be delete. They will
remain in the real folders where they are. VFs don't hold any
messages, they just 'display' messages actually residing in one or more
 real folders.

Ok, but if I delete a message in a virtual folder then the original
message gets also deleted, right? In this respect they VF operate
different to copies in secondary folders.

Log Files and Error Reporting

2009-01-07 Thread Tom

Hello Everyone,

I noticed that one of my accounts did not receive any emails and
assumed it was due to the holiday season.
Only today I realised that I had changed the password when travelling.
While searching for the error it occurred to me that I never received
any error message (obvious and visible) that the server had rejected
connection. I had checked logs but did not realise at the time that
they are all account specific, so when I clicked on logs before being
in another account, it showed retrieved messages.

Is there any other way to be alerted to retrieval problems or to
access an overall log for all accounts? This would make it so much
easier to check when you have more than a few accounts.

Restore with all accounts

2008-12-17 Thread Tom

Hello Everyone,

after giving up on Voyager, I am now trying to restore my complete
email set-up via backup/restore onto my laptop.

I have just done so and thought everything went smoothly. However, I
now discovered that for some accounts the messages were not restored.
I don't understand the system behind it. For many of my accounts I
have sub-accounts for older messages (in or out), so at first I
thought only the standard settings like inbox, sent can be restored
(though that would be a terrible shortcoming if I ever needed to
restore everything on my desktop). But then I can see that the backup
went fine for two accounts and 5 other accounts remained empty.

And how about virtual folders, these did not make it either. I checked
the backup settings but you can only tick the accounts you want, there
is no tick box for including sub-accounts or making other adjustments.

Is there anything else I can do to get a fully matching copy onto my
laptop?

 work.

This did not work for me. The restore seemed to time out quickly and
while the usual warning this could take a long time was accepted,
after about 30 minutes I gave up. When I cancelled the restore, I
noticed that the accounts were imported but no emails at all. I am
also missing my templates and the accounts are not configured with
their relevant connection data. On the plus side, the address book has
been imported.

Any idea why this is not working for me? I am using the Pro Version
but my database is not encrypted. I realise that voyager has an
ecrypted database - could that be the reason and if so, how could I
deal with it?

Just to clarify, if I did a backup/restore as described today (from desktop to

week, would that just overwrite/update voyager with the latest data?

Voyager Synch

2008-12-06 Thread Tom

Hello Everyone,

I am trying to follow the instructions in the help file for
synchronising my primary bat with a new voyager bat on my usb.
I installed voyager and tested it with a newly set up account and
everything works as it should.

I would like to tranfer my whole existing bat to voyager to be
available during an upcoming trip. So following the guidelines my
Laptop is installation 1, my prime bat is installation 2 and the synch
file should be happening on voyager. However each time I try to go
through step three, voyager just times out/freezes with the
maintenance centre appearing plus hourglass but no further processing.

I am not sure if my file size is too big? My USB stick has free space
of 3.75 gb - if I look at my TB folder with all accounts and
templates, this shows 2.26 GB. Do I need more free space or what am I
missing? I also don't see any way to select the accounts for backup
with respect to my main Bat. It seems I only have the option for
installation 1 (which currently is pristine) but for installation 2
the choice only relates to address books.

as an update: I realise that the message base in Voyager is encrypted

Could that be the reason for the failure and is there a way around it.
I can't seem to find anything on how to encrypt the database - only
info relating to emails to be sent.

Now you've registered your existing copy as pro.

Redirect the old registration info message to your other computer

You may need different settings to send mail from a different location

 connecting via their network).

yeah, that is right but would not be a problem.

You would need to integrate the messages you received on your laptop
while travelling into the messagebase on your PC after your return.

How would I do that without messing everything up? I used webmail in
the past and using leaving messages on server downloaded again after
return to my normal workstation. However, any emails sent from webmail
would not show up or only if using cc to my own account and then have
to be shifted around to the correct folders (from inbox to sent) with
having the wrong time stamps?

I am currently using TB Home and am curious about Voyager. I

I normally use TB on my desktop but will be travelling shortly. I

downloaded voyager (free?), how could I then make use of it during my

It stays like this until you compress the folder. That's a reason why
we advise to compress all folders on exit (or at least regularly)

Deleted attachments are handled the same way, they're merely marked as
deleted, but they won't show when you browse deleted messages. They'll
be removed when you compress the folder.

Deleting an attachment

slumber
somewhere in the database and just does not show anymore or is it really gone?

Storage of Email Attachments

2008-09-22 Thread Tom

Hello Everyone,

for a number of accounts I have set the storage of attachments to be
kept separately in a special directory.
I prefer it that way to have one bucket that has all attachments
stored safely in case I need to go back to search for the attachment
later (irrespective of my email storage).

If someone wants to point out drawbacks to this policy, please do so.

I am now noticing that accessing this storage folder on my harddrive
becomes sluggish, I guess due to the number of files stored there. As
my need to access these attachments diminishes rapidly after 3 weeks,
I would like to shift all attachments older than 3 weeks to another
folder.
What are the implications for my emails and email database? I am
always worried about doing things that may corrupt my TB database. My
moving these attachments now from folder A to folder B within Windows
explorer, will that have any consequences for TB?
New attachments are still supposed to be stored in the same folder.

signature template query

2008-08-29 Thread Tom

Hello Everyone,

I just noticed an issue with my signature templates. I have set up
templates with signatures for various correspondents and accounts to
simplify my life :)
For this list I am using a simple greeting with my current version
after the normal separator.

I don't know if you can see the signature as in my compose window
the signature appears faint. Also instead of the double hypen -- only
one hyphen shows up. I checked that the templates shows up normally.

I also sent some test messages to myself and the outcome was
completely confusing. The first email I received with my faint
signature did not show up any signature at the receiving end. I then
replied to this and did a second test using an additional manual
signature. Once this second email arrived, I not only saw two
signatures (template manual) but all of a sudden the first email
with the faint signature showed up normal. Interestingly in my reply
email it clearly shows no original signature (though perhaps this is
the proper way of cutting off signatures in replies?).

Does anybody know when a signature comes up as faint, what it means
and how it should show up at the recipient? Looking in my sent
folder, I can see some emails with faint and some with normal
signature. I never noticed this
before, don't know if something has corrupted.

Spam from/via Tbudl Magnifique

2008-07-01 Thread Tom

Hello Everyone,

For the second time I have now received a strange spam message into my
Tbudl account - this time with an attachment of about 5.88 mb called
Fractalsetp. Also, a receipt message was in my Outbox.

Has anyone else received these? I am not very familiar with reading
these headers but I can only see a dozen or so recipients and
strangely most of them with emails indicating a French address. This
account normally only receives the monthly reminder, so anything
coming in there is unusual.

My AV does not show anything but obviously I am not going to open the
attachment. The outgoing message is deleted.

Any suggestions on how to filter this type of message perhaps at
server level to prevent the download?
