2010-10-24 Thread Wilfried Mestdagh
Hi,

Thanks for reply. No removing that tick prevent it from running again with
same exception error. BTW: I'm logged in as administrator on that machine.

I did not copy it (for rights reasons) to the program files folder, but a
folder where I have program not installed with an installer (to know the
difference). I have no programs in that folder that write to the registry -
maybe that is the reason.

Anyway I hope my experiance - solution can benefit others too.

Thanks again for quick reply!

best regards, Wilfried

2010-10-24 Thread Wilfried Mestdagh
Hi,

I found the trouble. If I check 'run this program as administrator' then all
is working fine.

Strange: I checked the old copy and this was not checked. Also it is not
copied in the 'program file (x86)' folder so there should be no
restrictions.

to move it to another folder. I have already tryed to do and change all the
registry values where a folder name was in to the new folder name, but after
the move The Bat fails to start. So it is clear I have forgot something. Can

Made a backup copy, uninstalled the bat completely including registry key's,

On the first run it startet with the AV, but could go on. After restoring all

Access violation in Account - Properties

2003-09-10 Thread Wilfried Mestdagh
Hello,

I have not mutch luck on the 2 other mailing list. The tech seems dead, the
beta is only some talk around anti virus and so :( so I try here. I will try
to explain clear, but my english is not so well :(

After upgrading to v2, I have AV when I hit account -> properties. In fact I
  have 2 after each other.
the first is: AV in NTDll.dll, read of address 18
the secend: AV in TheBat.exe, read of address 0

After both access violations my cursor is hourglass and stay that way until I
click on a folder in one of the accounts. TheBat is working normal, but I
cannot get into the accoutn properties.

I have to say, that one of the AV's started when I downloaded a beta version
on advice of someone. It was the first (AV in NtDll.dll) but I dont know the
exception message anymore. I did not find this a problem because:
  - it was a beta version
  - hitting and I had the properties :)

I already search the registry in the RIT key's to see if I see something
strange. The only strange I found was in
  RIT/The Bat!/Users Depot/ a key called: user1, user2, user3, user4 where
user2 and 3 are the same, and user4 is an account that I have deleted a while
  ago.
Can I delete these keys ?

Of course I checked also the configuration files in the 'the bat' folder, but
unfortionaly it is binary files, no information on it, so not mutch I can
  check.

Oh yes: I dont know if that was after or before the AV problem but I made some
experiment with mailing list and so. Deleted the folders in the bat, and then
of course also from the HDD. But I do not see these folders in registry and
so, so I think nothing to do about that.

for the rest thebat is working fine. it is only the acount properties :(

  any advice is welcome !

I hade the impression this list was more for _use_ problems, the other one
more for _tech_ problems. If that's right, then I should not repost here of

Re[2]: Filtering after a first filter dont work

2003-08-02 Thread Wilfried Mestdagh
Hello,

Ok, I get it working, but I'm not sure I did it the right way. First of all,
completely automaticle seems not working. I probably so something wrong or dont
use right method. Any advice is welkome of course.

I have now:
in my "normal account" (the one that read the pop3 server) ar rule to put
messages with a certain 'recipient' field into the inbox of the new account.

In the new account I have made a subscribe / unsubscribe rule in the 'read
messages'. So I have to read the messages (then they are marked as read), and
then the whole thing starts (add / remove address book, autoreply).

Filtering after a first filter dont work

2003-08-02 Thread Wilfried Mestdagh
Hello,

I have setup a announce mailing list with TB, with a subscribe / unsubscribe
filter. For that I created a separate account but did not specify a pop3
server, because the mail for it is received in my first account.

what I do is when a mail arrives with [EMAIL PROTECTED] then the some_name
is filtered to the inbox of the new account. There the other filter should
start (I was thinking so, but it is not).

When I click right and choose re-filter on the inbox on the new account all is
working well, but it does not happen automaticly. What did I miss for that ?

I tryed checking "continue processing with other filters" in the first filter,
  but that does not help.

You right, but still it can maybe help Patricia and Barry. I assume it logs
(winsock) errors (if there are). Does it not ?

I assume that the problem they have is a large packet loss, and TB is waiting
because it is downloading. But isnt there a timeout set somewhere ? If so is
  it parameterisable ?

Hello Barry,

I receive many mail with large attachment w/o problems. However it could be
timeouts you have due to heavy internet traffic. Difficult to say.

in properties I see a max logfile size setting. I assume TB logs the TCP
traffic. However I dont see a file with a name looking like a log file. maybe
someone else can bring light on this.

Thanks all for reply. It seems TB has lots of possibilities. However it should
be nice to know wy and how the comma rule is there. There should be a reason I
think ?

What about other mail readers ? How do they manage a 'hello NAME,' ?

As far as I know there is no RFC for that, and I can advice some people that I
know to change their name, but I have to tell them it is wrong. But is it wrong
?

It means if I change my name to: "Wilfried Mestdagh, Sonal nv" and you hit repy
you get "Hello Sonal" instead of "Hello Wilfried"... hmm...

I dont wants to say that TB is wrong somewhere, I just wants to have some
clarification ;-)

Hello Daniel,

thanks for your answer, but I think I did not do my question very well (my

in my inbox I wants to view all messages read and unread, because it is there
because I have to do something with it, otherwise I move them.

in a mailing list folder (where messages are filtered to) I only wants to view
unread messages / threads.

for example I have folder 'the bat'. if I do View -> Display - > Only unread
messages, then it works, but unfortionaly this setting is then for _all_ my
folders wich I dont want.

I hope I make more sence now ;-)
