Try this filter. It is set to manual and you have to point it at the right

Then use refilter / manual in the directory and you will have a address

PH In TheBat 2.10, is there away to harvest all sender email

Hi Pete,

There are a few ways to do this.

One is to write a filter that add the name to an address book when they
arrive. YOu can export these later to a CSV file which you can read into a
spreadsheet or word processor or... etc.

An other is to write a manual activated filter which read all address from
email in a specific folder into an address book.

And third the quick and dirty way, mark all the e-mails from which you want
to harvest the address and pres ctrl-W (Add sender to address book).
Specify the address book for the first e-mail when asked and when that is
completed TB will ask if you want all the rest in the same address book.
You will be done in 5 sec.

Hi Paul,

I just noticed something else.
When I select Ctr-W and add the sender to the address book I also set the
gender. Then when it came with te msg if it should add the other email
addresses to the same address book I responded with NO, which gives you the
option to select the address book for this email address

What I noticed is that it exactly the same as I have entered before with
the same address book but also the gender set.

To me this means that TB! als does recognizes that this is the same entry
and if displays it. It is the same result as if you would try to add
someone to your address book who is already in one.

It might still have to do with the reply to header being set, but I am
convinced this is a bug.

Add sender to addressbook function problem

2004-07-20 Thread Zonnet
Hi Bat Users,

I use this function (Ctrl-W) often to place people sending me email in a
address book for filtering purposes.

I have recently had the problem that sometimes after adding the name to
a selected address book a pop-up appears asking if it should add the
others to the same address book.

It looks like I selected multiple email whereas I only selected one with
one sender.

When I select no, the address book selection window appears with, what looks
to me like the exact same data I just entered and even the address book
selected I just entered.

To me it looks like TB! is trying to enter the same data twice.

Can someone please see if they can reproduce this problem?

Hi Claude,

This is a difficult discussion. From what I have been reading here in this
list there are a lot of e-mail purist on, but here is what I think.

I love integration, but I want it to be between different applications
instead of one all dancing and singing application. I want choice. I want
to decide what is best for my e-mail and what is best for handling my
information.

I currently use ACT! (notice it also has an exclamation mark!) as my
contact manager. It is great for handling all my contacts but has some
quirks I would like to see fixed. It has nice integration with a fax and
word processors but has an absolute terrible e-mail integration.
It will somewhat work with OE or us its own very very very (repeat at least
25 times) basic e-mail program.

Obviously I like TB! and would think it perfect if it would work with ACT!
but someone else might have different PIM needs and prefers an other
program.

The answer is standard interface programming. We know how to do it but it
has such a terrible overhead :(
Still, I think it is the only way go or alternatively we all become
exclusive M$ users.

I made a mistake when entering a handle.
It should be OK now.

Is there an updated rogues file already, I will have a look right now.

You were right. I had not removed the tick from PGPDisk, thinking I would

Hi Charles,

That might be true but it is strange that if you change something in the
msg ( I usually add a few spaces and a Cr/lf) it works fine.
I have learned to life with this strange quirk :\

Hi Cyrille,

Actually I make the changes at the top of the email because I do not want
to scroll down. Sometimes it seems to take 2 tries but I have always been

nothing more then e few spaces and sometime a CR/LF.

I should mention I use PostcastServer as a SMPT mailer, so I do not have

How would you do that? Reference by name and location?
But what if I make changes in a spreadsheet. I can never verify what I
have send anymore.

Better yet, have younoticed that the copy is made the moment you attach
the file? If it is attached you can not change it anymore by changing the
original. You will have to delete it and re-attach.

To me it makes perfect sense :-)
