MDP That's not it. There's nothing in there to include any quotes at all.
Thanks Marck. I omitted last line of reply template and also the quick
templates it calls up.
It was the pair of templates that the List recommended to ensure that
any quoted text is automatically wrapped on the TBFAQ macro library:

and I thought had served me well before, shown at foot of this email.
So have now simply put
%QUOTES
and this should be just fine.
