Try holding the Alt-shift while left-clicking on the particular 
field in the message list. (Esc to undo.)

5.4 Quick Filtering

I seem to remember that there was SOME keystroke that would filter the
currently  viewed  folder  base  on  the message you were viewing (all
email  in  the  folder from that sender for instance) I am not talking
about copying to the search box and letting it create a tab

Does anyone remember this?
