There would be no need for any anti-virus plugins for email applications. The answer given at http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/msescan/thread/dbf58560-5b0c-4ba0-9d9b-839e80f78ceb to Does Microsoft Security Essentials automatically scan incoming/outgoing email and attachments for viruses, malware, trojans, etc.? is if you attempt to launch or save an infected attachment, MSE's real time protection will scan and stop it. It does not use the 'smoke and mirrors' approach of scanning email that some other products use which can cause issues with mail sending and receiving. Well, I've simply installed and trusting it is going to behave smoothly. I don't have IMAP configured to TheBat!, but POP3 protocol. I am newcomer to TB! and was using Kaspersky on my desktop and now MS Security Essentials to notebook. Anyway I should give it a try to my Windows 7 x64 installed to desktop and check about how fast does it behave along MS Security Essentials. Location of Anti-Virus Plugin
Hi everyone, Does anyone know where the location of the anti-virus plugins in The Bat is? I have an errant plugin (Generic DLL Plugin) listed in Options-AntiVirus (with a status of 'error') and I want to get rid of it if it isn't for an anti-virus I currently have installed. Problem is, I can't tell which AV it belongs to. Unfortunately, I use the OTFE built-in to The Bat, and that file is encrypted, so I can't read it :( (I don't have AVG installed by the way, I was just using it as an example of who this plugin may belong to as I have had AVG installed in the past - I removed it a while ago, and I was thinking that maybe the uninstallation didn't remove the plugin from The Bat) Maybe I should just risk it and delete the plugin from within The Bat? -- Regards, GG Current version is 4.0.18 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
