B ... does TheBat Scheduler require the full Bat application to be
B running

Sorry to have missed (many?) days of this topic...
Does the scheduler in version 2.12 allow BACKUP as an action to add?
I cannot find how.

Thx all
Rich

Thanks - do you nhave any idea id this will work:

 D:\Mijn Backups\The Bat!\%Date=MMDDhhnn.tbk

 to make 200602161930.tbk

I want to add the time to the date

You must use another macro %TIME, I use

%DATE(-mm-dd)-%TIME(hh-mm-ss).tbk

Bat Scheduler and Backups

2006-02-15 Thread Barry
OK, I've managed to avert disaster and recovered by judicious file copying
from my last tape backup. And I've now created a Bat Backup using the
inbuilt backup routine, I ought to know better really!

Now I've discovered that TheBat can process automated backups using the
Scheduler. Brilliant!

Thing is, does TheBat Scheduler require the full Bat application to be
running or does it run as a separate 'service' in the background?

Yes.

B or does it run as a separate 'service' in the background?

No such luck. But of course you can keep TB minimized, that's what I
did back when I had just one monitor.

And could someone remind me the way of changing the name of the backup file
to add the date/time so that a new backup file is created each time.

I've set it as backup to standard backup file with the name:
D:\Mijn Backups\The Bat!\%Date=MMDD.tbk

Works fine, just as I was taught recently.
