I have that sometimes with large messages too. The mail gets
downloaded eventually.

I also experienced this with older versions. I blame it on the
internet connection. FWIW a friend of mine just experienced this with
Outlook as well.

Well, what a surprise ... phew lol

MJS> OT: can you please tell me how to get that Oscar Wilde (or any other
MJS> quotation) at the end of my sig?

Sure, there are several ways:

[1] directly into TB:

1. Go to Account Properties -> Templates -> Cookies

2. Enter your cookies into the editing field.

3. For multi-line cookies put in \n at the point where you want a line
break; you can have more than one per cookie

[2] use an external file: again, any cookie needs to be in one line,
for line breaks use \n. You can also use the %WRAPPED macro in your
template to get an automatic line wrap.

In method [2] here's how i've set it up: made a basic QT:

%cookie="C:\Program Files\The Bat!\cookies.txt"

In the Quick templates where i wanted to appear the sentences, i've
included:

%Wrapped="%Qinclude='cookie'"

Note that TB! will randomly access the sentences, i.o.w. you'll never
get the same sentence twice.

MJS> PS: I will try out a machine with Opera and see if it as worthy of a
MJS> mention in my sig :-D.

Lol... for me as a webdesigner it does "using the best browser:
IE." just doesn't cut it for me :D

Michael this happened to me also a few times, even with previous
versions of TB!

It was always an infected mail (spam, virus)... once i deleted it on
the server, everything worked fine again. I suppose the mail you want
is a "secure" mail but maybe it's infected somehow...

You might try delete it on the server and ask the sender to send a
new one...

Of course i might be completely off track here but in that case
someone much wiser will correct me :-)

Cannot download a 3.5K email

2008-03-28 Thread Michael J. Sharp
Hello list,

One of my mail boxes was not bringing in its its usual quota of
incoming mail, so I thought maybe Vitaly's Antispam Sniper Pro is doing its
job a little too well.

But no, the mail box on the server has some emails, but they are not
large enough to casue any kind of backlog.I deleted all of them except the one
I want, and marked it
unseen.

Now I try to I press F2 and it just sits there with the dialog box saying its
until it times out.

I have tried F11 (send and receive all) but it just sits there and
eventually times out after 2 minutes. But this a 3.5K plain text
message.

See log:

 3/28/2008, 09:50:08: FETCH - connected to POP3 server
 3/28/2008, 09:50:09: FETCH - authenticated (plain)

!3/28/2008, 10:01:02: FETCH - Connection to host broken (last commands sent
were: "UIDL", "RETR 1")

I must suspect TB because its happening with other accounts, and
never occurred in 4.0.18.5.

Confirmation please!
