Re: Email restrict

2003-02-22 Thread Januk Aggarwal
Hi Marck,

It was foretold that on Friday, February 21, 2003 at 12:19 GMT +,
Marck Pearlstone would type:

 %if:%SETPATTREGEXP='(?i)sat|sun'%REGEXPMATCH='%DOW'=:%-
 %if:_%TIME__08:30_:%-
 _%if:+%TIME++17:30+:%-
 +%To=''%To='Fred at Work [EMAIL PROTECTED]'+_%-

That does it. Saturday and Sunday ignored, working day is 8:30 to
 17:30.

Does that really work? Last time I tried (this was a while ago), the
strings are compared, not the numbers. Of course my problem was that
in my locale, %TIME returns an AM/PM format string. Perhaps one
should use %Time=hh:nn to be safe?

Could be. As I said, it worked here, but YMMV and that's a very good
suggestion.

Can someone point me to the list of *common*, *accepted* abbreviations

BTW, OTOH, IMHO, LOL (even ROTFL) are all old and well used. YMMV?

Gimme a break. (GAB?)

Email restrict

2003-02-21 Thread Adam
Suppose you are mistakenly emailing someone when he/or she is not
actually at home, or work. You were using the wrong address. Is it
possible to restrict access to sending email to a particular address
based on the time of day? At night, don't send to address B. In the
day, don't send to address A.

No, but here's a thought. If both addresses are in the same AB
record, enable the Automatically add secondary addresses to the BCC
field. Then the message will always go to both addresses, whatever
the time.

MDP No,

Wouldn't it be possible to use an address book macro that switches the
recipient with the %To: macro based on the time of day? Unfortunately
I don't know where to start with such a macro.

There was a discussion august last year about Luc using a template
that adapted the greeting to his local time. So I presume it can be
done.

Yes. This would work. Needs to be done on TBTECH though.
